Driftwood Suites, Niagara Falls

We did not read the reviews until after we had booked our room...biggest mistake!!! We booked the jacuzzi suite for $85, the rooms look NOTHING like the pictures online, after confronting the marketing director about this even he failed to find a picture of our room on their website. This MOTEL (and I use that term very loosely) is more like a trailer park or RV resort. They have a very strict refund policy where they DO NOT refund your money but 'allow' you to not stay there, or they will be glad to 'upgrade' you to the room you thought you were booking for an additional $50. If I had a life enemy, I wouldn't even want them to stay here, this place has 13' tv's, brown crusty carpets, no mirrors around the jacuzzi's, flys & bugs, a window A/C unit that has a low setting, and gives you the feel of actually floating on driftwood down a dirty river...do not trust the 2 semi good reviews about this place, those people must have crawled out of the woods to think that this place is even a 1 star, the only reason I selected 1 for the rating is because there were no negative numbers. You can rest assured that I have wasted the last 10 mins of my life typing this review from my iPhone at the Holiday Inn just 3 miles away in a clean bed after just being in their awesome indoor pool and jacuzzi having a drink from their full bar BECAUSE I WANT YOU TO KNOW HOW TERRIBLE THIS PLACE IS. I have NEVER written a review of anything in my life, but if this helps just 1 person NOT waste their money, it's worth it to me. I actually had to threaten to sit in the lobby and tell every person that came to check in how terrible it was in order to get the front desk guy to 'compromise' with me and give our money back....... If you've taken the time to read a review, take the time to listen to it, at least look at it before you book over the phone or online, you will NOT get your money back and the price is the same whether you book in person or online.....

I like the views, but I don't like the following: waiting 25 minutes for a defective elevator; stench coming through the vents; stench coming through the windows; constant roaches; mice; kind but apathetic management.

The place is definitely no-frills, but it is walking distance to Johns Hopkins University and Loyola College, which is great if you're visiting a student at one of the schools as I was.
