Flamingo Hotel, Adolfo Lopez Mateos

I went here on a dive vacation. The Hotel is very clean, safe and friendly. Breakfast was included in our package and was delicious. The Hotel is right downtown so we walked every where. We went diving everyday, with Aquatic sports, included in our package. Aquatic Sports is a very safe Dive operation, and I would reccomend them. I was a litte put off by Aquatic Sports, I felt that because there were only 2 in my group that we were not a priority, somewhat understandaple because I'm sure he was losing money to take us out if there weren't more customers booked that same day. They never mentioned that but we did have 2 dives canceled and one we did with another dive shop aranged by Aquatic Sports.

The Flamingo Hotel is just the perfect location for those who wish to enjoy San Miguel "downtown" : almost all the restaurants are round the corner (walking distance). We had a superior room : nice, clean, convienient and with enough space. The team is very professional and friendly. Tom, the owner, is also attentive. The only thing is that no swimming pool is available but this is no big deal, considering that the sea is never that far. An extra added value ? Ask the barman his special margarita. :-)

I came here on my own as a single woman traveler and was very pleased with the hospitality of the staff as well as the comfortable and freshly updated accommodations. It was easy to meet others here in the friendly bar and the full breakfast in the morning was yummy. I learned to dive while I was here, which was my main reason for the visit. -They have a great dive operator - Aquatic Sports. The Flamingo is a super value and would suggest it to anyone looking for more of a boutique hotel with some character.

From the moment we arrived, we knew, we had found the perfect place for our vacation. The staff were friendly, the hotel was clean, our room had a very comfortable bed. The special Coconut French toast, we had for breakfast, truly added to the experience. It was so well located, we walked everywhere and felt very safe. Two thumbs up!!! Can't wait to go back!!

i noticed that all the reviews to this hotel are a few years old, and so, there is no more cuban live music, but i heard that they were starting a jazz night sometime soon, the night time restaurant is great! good food! good prices,the location is one of the best! the staff is great, they make you feel you are part of the island life and are very friendly, strongly recomend this place, specially for the diving crowd....

I loved this place. I stayed here twice in 2005. I had a room on the 2nd floor above the flags. The room was comfortable and had a shower and a patio with a view of the street and the water. It also had a television and a phone. The hotel is quiet at night after 11pm, so you can sleep. There is a bar at the top of the building and a patio so you can see all around the city from that vantage point. Other touristas were friendly. It is clean and a great value for the money. The staff members were nice people and interactive, even despite my poor spanish they were willing to talk and to be nice. I liked how they gave me sound advice on where to rent things and where to go and travel locally. They often suggested places that were not on the road well travelled, so I felt like I got a less touristy perspective on life in Cozumel. The bar is well stocked. The chef, when I was there, was from Chile, and he cooked some very fine dishes. They are packed for la cina and it is understandable why. I would definitely return here again and again, and I hope this hotel can weather any storm and stay open.

This hotel is 1/2 a block from the downtown pier where you can go and take any tour you wish such as snorkeling, parasailing, and sail boat tours. The FURY CATAMARINE is a must tour. It is also 1 block town square. The hotel is a clean hotel adn has a wonderfull bar down stairs it is also a little clib spot for people at night. They have great food adn a pool table on the second story. I love this hotel because it is worth my money it is not a run down 2 star hotel. In my opinion it is a 2 star class because it does not have that much such as all exclusive hotels do, but its cleaniness is great. The food is good priced and It has a top story of the hotle where you can chill and relax. I went in may 2006 and plan to go back to stay in dec 2006.

We booked this hotel through a travel site. When we checked in we were tired and ready for bed. It turns out most of the rooms are within open earshot of the bar. There was loud music playing until 11:30 even though the hotel policy was quiet hours after 10. The music was so loud that I couldn't hear the TV in our room even though it was cranked. The toilet plugged on the first use. When we complained to the manager he seemed nice and said we could check out the next day and he would only charge us for one day. We worked this out with the travel site which said this was OK and we didn't need anything from the manager. They said they would get a fax from him. It took a month of pestering for the travel site to finally squeeze the fax out of the hotel manager. We found a much better hotel for the rest of the trip that only cost about $10 more and it was on the beach! There are much better places to stay than this, don't waste your money.

FRIENDLINIESS.The staff is incredible. TERRIFIC CHILEAN CHEF, amazing dinners, fabulous complimentary breakfast. The Cuban music in the bar, the owner's friendly diving info. Good music on Friday night, pleasant rooms, close to shopping and malecon. Stroll anywhere safely, ask for Tomas and get a personal tour from the fabulous dueno. All diving arranged ro you. I go back every year, and find it the BEST bargain in Cozumel. Ceiling fans, hammocks, gardens, delightful meeting place for the whole community. Doesn't feel touristy, but so comfortable and nurturing.

Disappointing, Dishonest and Dismal. Do not stay here unless you only want a dirty room and cold shower. Staff provided limited assistance and did not care that we left after only two nights out of a seven night reservation. There is no rooftop cafe or Internet for public use.
