Comfort Suites Norwich, Norwich

I came here a few years ago and saw first hand that the hotel was starting to fall into the gutters. Promised myself that I would NEVER stay again. Unfortunately I had to go to the Norwich area and they were the only ones with reasonalble rates. All of the other hotels were charging over $120.00 during the week. So what the heck, I decided to give it another shot. Upon pulling into the hotel, I noticed that the lawn was actually being taken care of. Ok, there's a step in the right direction finally! I went into the hotel to check in and I was greeted by cheerful happy to be there people. (It's about time!) My check in went really well! All of the wallpaper in the hallways that was hanging down before was all put back up. The room I was given, smelled and looked clean. It seems that they now have a crew of happy people working for them as when I came out of my room for breakfast, every worker that I saw gave me a big smile and said good morning. The breakfast was good although I do wish that they would offer some sort of meat such as bacon or sausage to go with the eggs. I couldn't bring myself to eat the sausage gravy and biscuits, but I did see that others there were a fan of it. All in all, good job to everyone working there trying to make this hotel a place where your guests want to stay, not run from! Keep up the good work.

Rooms were gross.. Red Bulls cost way too much.. Management acted very unprofessional.. the bar reeked like stale beer and burnt hair.. costed way too much for the lack of service and amount of unfriendliness.. The only upside was the free 10 bucks at mohegan sun which went towards my booze

People were nice, rooms were fine. We took our kids down to this hotel's pool and I must say that I have NEVER seen such a disgusting pool in my life. You wont be able to see your feet due to the 'contaminents' in the water - and I cant imagine what these might be. My wife and I are both MDs .....had to leave the water ASAP for worries about water-borne illness. Management: Do you think you could sort this one out ? The rest of your hotel was quite convenient and enjoyable.

I wouldn't give this place any stars at all. The whole place is dirty and smelly. Filthy carpets, stained walls, and an overpowering odor of mildew and dampness everywhere. The room smelled so bad it made us gag. Smoking was only part of the odor problem (even in a "smoke free" room). I would be more concerned about mold, mildew & dirt. As for the service, the "free shuttle" was full, with no indication that we were supposed to book ahead of time. But even worse, they would not refund the price of our room when we refused to stay. I can't believe this place had 3 stars from AAA. Stay away.

What a horror show from the beginning. The outside of the hotel was not maintained at all. When we tried to get in the front door, the door almost came off it's hinges. The lobby was ok and check in was smooth. As we turned the corner to the elevator the carpet was dirty. The elevator was smell and dirty also. We headed to our room and the corridor was smelly, dirty and had ripped wallpare in a few places. The room was horrific. The place again stunk. The bathroom sink was lopsided. There was a rust colored stain at the base of the toilet and there was no soap in the bathroom at all. The coffee table had dirt and dust all over it. We were too afraid to lift open the comforter. We went to check out the pool and it was way too hot there and they had too much chlorine in the pool. We checked out immediately and found a Holiday Inn down the road that was fine. Stay Away! No money has been invested in that hotel in a long time and it shows.

My husband and I stayed at this Comfort Suites recently. Upon arrival to the room, and in need of the bathroom, you can't imagine our disgust when we lifted the toilet seat to disvocer it was full of toilet paper. Upon flushing, it immediately began to look as if we were going to have an overflow, but subsided. We had to find a restroom nearby. When we arrived back at our room, the toilet was working, but we then discovered that someone's dirty towel was hanging on the back of the door. Obviously, someone didn't do their job that day.

rooms were nice and clean.free breakfast was ok.free shuttle and free buffet at mohegan sun was nice.also conveniently located off the thruway.close to mystic,groton and new london

A real pleasure and great value for the money. We stayed over for the weekend when most other places are $200 and up. This was much less -- plus a free breakfast with eggs, sausage, waffles, juice, etc etc! The heated pool was very warm and clean. The fitness room was tidy and clean. The room was spacious and nicely appointed -- bed was comfortable, bathroom clean. Includes a fridge and a microwave. All in all, it was terrific and we will be back.

A group of 6 of us wanted to go cheap. We didn't know what to expect when we got there. Definately a good value for the price. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The shuttle was very convenient and you were given a $10 game voucher plus a $10 food voucher toward any resturaunt for each one of us. The free breakfast buffet was filled with a bunch of different stuff. Would stay again.

I was looking forward to a weekend away, when a day before my arrival someone from comfort inn contacted me that my reservations were cancelled because they were overbooked. This is unacceptable. It is their responsiblity to honor their reservations which I made 3 weeks prior. I would not recommend someone to stay here. Try another hotel
