Kouros Hotel & Suites, Mykonos

Wonderful staff at Kouros!!! And a beautiful hotel too!! We arrived on Mikonos at 7:00am from Athens hoping to make the most out of our 3 days on the island. It started to rain as we left Athens and hadn't improved any upon landing on Mikonos. The hotel driver picked us up at the airport and as we drove to the hotel he kept telling us that it almost never rains at this time of year and it shouldn't last long. Unfortunately he was wrong, by this time it was pouring. We where met in the lobby with a warm reception and greeted with hot coffee then led to a sofa to wait for our room. We where starving however and inquired about a place for breakfast; we where invited to go down to the breakfast buffet near the pool. After enjoying a very nice breakfast we returned to the lobby to find our room was still not ready as it was occupied the night before. We had expected this actually and normally wouldn’t have been a problem. We would have just dropped our bags and headed into town to explore but the down pour going on outside that wasn’t going to happen. So we returned to the sofa to wait. A bit later a very nice woman appeared and asked if we would like to use a room to relax in while we wait for our suite to be ready. Why yes!! We would love that!! The woman turned out to be the owner who apparently took pity on us in our weary looking state (due to the Olympic Airlines flight to the island…but that is a whole other story) …either that or she didn’t want us sitting in her lobby looking like the soggy wet messes we where. Pity or sympathy which ever it was didn’t matter to us at that point so…we where escorted along with our bags to a nice little room so that we could freshen up and relax and about 2 hours later we received a call that our suite was ready. Our bags where collected and brought to our digs which was a lovely 2 room suite with 2 balconies and a huge bathroom. We enjoyed 3 wonderful nights at Kouros which was by far the most comfortable room of our entire trip. There seems to be some clearing of land going on near the water directly in front of the hotel which doesn't make for a picture perfect view but all you must do is aim you camera up about a 1/2 inch higher and no one will ever know. We had a wonderful time at Kouros, I’d love to go back one day!!!!
