The 1st hotel we tried we felt unsafe & decided not to stay. Found this Marriott Courtyard. Mentioned our experience at the front desk and that we had been shopping all day (4 women, pre-Christmas) and how unsafe we felt at the other hotel. Was directed to park around back. The next morning discovered that we (along with another car) had been broken into and robbed of all our packages! Found out from the a.m. desk clerk that they have local police drive through the lot every 20 minutes. You would think that the p.m. clerk would have warned us. Wrote to customer service and they sympathized with us. NO SECURITY CAMERAS IN BACK PARKING LOT!!!! Felt that hotel didn't do much to protect our assets. Especially because they have a camera behind the front desk. From talking with the poiceman, this is a high crime area. Even though it was "just stuff" and no one was hurt (the car did have $1,000 worth of damage), we just felt the Marriott could do more to protect their guests. After hearing the police man tell me they TRY to go through the lot every 20 minutes, that says alot about what happens there!
