Poorly Trained Staff

The employees at Microtel Pooler are rude and nasty. The breakfast was terrible, with watered down orange juice, stale pastries, and bitter coffee. There was no milk and no cereal of any kind. The desk clerk had a loud mouth and used profanity while speaking on the telephone. I observed a guest ask for an extra towel, and the desk clerk cursed and said there were none. Our room had an awful smell, and the linens were dirty. The manager-owner is foreign and refused to speak with us. I filed a written complaint with Microtel corporate, and they told me all Microtels are privately owned, so I had to deal with the owner. My impression is that Microtel could care less about guest satisfaction. I will NEVER use a Microtel ever again, anywere.
