Never Again

This was the worst hotel experience of my life! My husband and I were going to stay there for a night in December. We arrived around midnight and we were very tired. They said that we were lucky because we were getting the last room available. When we arrived in our room we started to unpack. As we were unpacking, I noticed something under the bed. I bent down to see that it was a bag of marijuana and a used razor. My husband took the two objects to the front counter as I started to pack my things back into my bags. The man simply replied, It is only marijuana, then proceeded to offer us the only other room not occupied. This room wasnt occupied because it was deemed unserviceable because the bathtub was cracked and possibly contained mold/mildew. I have an autoimmune disorder, known as Lupus; and the spores from the mold would make me ill possible fatally, so we declined the room. Please note that I said room not suite, they never once offered us a suite to stay in.
We packed our stuff back in the car and while looking for another hotel my husband called the desk and asked for the owners phone number, where he got a rude reply stating that the owner refuses to take personal calls, and would you like the manager to call you back? The manager called back our cell phone and proceeded to make excuse after excuse instead of saying he would fix the problem. My husband then told the manager that he did not wish to speak with him anymore and that the manager needed to give the owner our cell phone number and have him call tomorrow morning. Well low and behold the next day we did not receive the call, so the day after my husband called the front desk and gave them exactly three hours to have the owner call, or we would call the corporate office. To our surprise 2:56 minutes later (we had no faith the call would come) the real manager called. The man proclaiming to be the hotel manager was actually only the shift manager. The manager was much better trained to deal with people, as he did not make excuses; he promised to take disciplinary action (of course we are unsure if he did) and in general just listened when he needed to.
We deiced to end the situation with him, as he said he would fix the problem. We however will never stay at any Microtel Inn & Suites again, especially the one in Pensacola FL. We were never offered any compensation over the ordeal, for that matter they wouldnt even give us a suite to sleep in that night. I do not recommend this chain/franchise to anybody under any circumstance!
