A Veteran place to stay

Every year about ten to twelve Vietnam Veterans travel from Chillicothe Ohio. We are in Kokomo for the annual Howard County Vietnam Veterans Reunion.The top place to stay is the Hampton Inn.The emoloyees are very nice and the place is very clean.I would recomend it to anyone.I would give it a five star rating.

Think Twice

I made a reservation the morning of our stay (9am) by the time we arrived, they had forgotten that I had requested a smoking room. We arrived and was given a suite room on the 1st floor, after about 45 minutes we realized that it wasn't a smoking room and asked to be switched to a smoking room. The desk clerk on duty asked if we had "touched" the room! I told her we had used the restrooms and again she asked if we had "touched" the room. I told her there was some trash and she asked if it looked like it did when we arrived! I believe the room was going to be "touched" up after we were in it for 45 minutes! We moved to the 5th floor to a smoking room and when we stepped out of the elevator the smell of stale smoke was almost unbearable! After getting to the room, we noticed that there where a few (6) bugs (little flying lady bugs) in the room. The heater was loud that night while we were trying to sleep! The complimentary breakfast was good! Upon check-out I informed the desk cleark that we had bugs in our room and she said she would let "the guys" know! I stayed at a different location the next night and would definatley stay there again before I picked this hotel!

Touch of Class and Hometown Hospitality

The Hampton Inn in Kokomo, Indiana is a very nice place to stay. Our family has stayed there several times over the years. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The lobby is gorgeous and even has a balcony. Every morning, you can eat breakfast for free in the lobby, along with a free paper. On Wednesday nights, dinner is free. There is always coffee and tea available as well. There is a very nice and clean pool and jacuzzi, a workout room, convention rooms and a laundry room and small gift shop. Stay on the 'pond side' for a nice view, the parking lot side does have rooms with fireplaces though, that are also nice. Do not stay in a room that is adjacent to the elevator though, or you will hear it run all night...also the first floor near the swimming pool can also be noisy...other than that, I have no complaints and will continue to stay there whenever we visit Kokomo in the future.
