Scary
We stayed at 1901 Kahula at Poipu RD, managed by Resort Quest at Poipu Kai. Condos at this address are individually owned, so as other posters have said, it's hit or miss.
The first unit, # 724, we went to was horrible, smelled, outdated, and carpet was filthy. I was ready to go to a hotel, but then I decided to confront the management about it and they sent us to another unit, # 823, which was a little better, newer carpet, but still outdated and very hot, even with all the windows open, no air conditioning in any of the units, so we went back to the management and asked if we could pay extra to upgrade to a nicer unit, which they let us do. The third unit, # 622, was much better, the owners actually believe in maintaining their property, only complaint, though it had a great ocean view & breeze (standing out on the lanai), it was still hot inside with all the windows open.
The next time we decide to stay in a condo, I'll make sure that it's a timeshare, they seem to maintain these properties (inside & out), and that it has air conditioning. Never again will I stay in an individually owned condo, also these owners have a long list of rules to follow. You'd be better off staying in a hotel or timeshare condo. We were lucky to have arrived early at Poipu Kai and able to find a decent condo to stay in. I'll also be complaining to AAA about this place too.
