Deer Creek Inn, Nevada City

Chuck, Elaine, and Ruth take such wonderful care of all their guests. They take time to listen to and chat with their guests and they make you feel right at home. Breakfast is a sumptuous feast of delicious made-from-scratch dishes made by Ruth. Wine and hors d'oeuvres are served at five and port, brandy, and cookies are available before bed. This charming Victorian house is just 2 blocks from the heart of town and its lawn slopes down to Deer Creek where there are chairs on the lawn for relaxing and watching the water flow by. Our room was decorated in a charming French motif and was very comfortable. A fabulous place to stay!

Ken and Eileen will make you feel like part of the family! I have never been one to LOVE staying at a B&B, because I love my privacy. But, when we stay at the Deer Creek Inn, we have the perfect mixture of our own space and time, and also feel welcomed as warmly as if we were staying with family. The pictures say it all, as far as how quaint and well appointed the rooms are. The location is perfect - only about a block or two from the main downtown area, but right next to the creek, so you can spend an afternoon relaxing on the lawn area listening to the creek trickling by, before enjoying your wine tasting before dinner. Ken and Eileen will treat you to a tour of the place, and can help you out with dinner reservations or information on other activities to do while in Nevada City. I highly recommend this wonderful getaway!
