Americas Best Value Inn and Suites St Charles Inn St Louis, St Charles

My husband and I came here on our 24th anniversary. The jacuzzi tub, which I paid extra to have, had a dirt/soap scum ring around it. Housekeeping staff was gone, so I was given cleaning supplies and scrubbed it myself. The bathroom light buzzed loudly all night. The rest of the room was fine. The man hired to work at the front desk was polite and apologetic, but the manager at checkout was unapologetic to the point of acting as though he didn't believe me. No discount, no apology, not even a "thank you for staying here". I didn't even mention to him that the breakfast was awful. $120 is a lot of money to pay to have to clean the bathtub and be treated as a liar.

I recently stayed there for a weekend and called to a second room since we had a party of five. Originally I asked for a roll-away but they informed me they did not do that, which wasn't a problem as I wanted a second room anyways. The lady did not believe me when I said there would be 2 in my room and the other room under my friend's name would have 3. She informed me that I was lying to her (I was NOT!) and she couldn't book the room because she thought there would be 5 people in the room then hung up on me! I was shocked but I didn't want our party to stay at 2 different hotels so I called back the next day and talked to a new person, a man. He also told me that I wasn't allowed to book there because they thought I would have 5 people in my room and to find a new hotel. I could not believe it- it sounds too unreal but I assure you, this is exactly what happened. So, another member of our party booked a room there on-line. We were given a smoking room and when asked if we could have a non-smoking we were told that we could not and to take what we get for booking a room on a discounted site. We later asked a different guy who informed us he would lose his job if he gave us a non-smoking room! I have never been treated so rudely and will never stay there again. I wouldn't have this time if there wasn't a large party we were with and didn't want to complicate things by staying at a different hotel. I was always very pleasant on the phone and didn't raise my voice but I am just shocked at the rudeness of the staff. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Staff very friendly, Best Breakfast Ever!! Pool was clean, rooms were clean with microwave [little noisey when used] nice refridgerator. Exerise room was clean with water and towels. Computer was working fine. My husband and I are headed back and we'll take our grandkids again to!! Walked to Texas Road house, Bass Pro Shop, gordman's, Chines Buffet... 9 other places to shop and a Denney's! All of us had a very enjoyable stay! And near Ameristar Casino.

Right next door to Bass Pro Shop, very close to the Ameristar, driving distance to outdoor concerts......very clean, SAFE and quiet even though it's right off the interstate. We normally stay at Hampton Inns, but this Best Western has a return customer in us!
