We went to the Hotel Pattee for our honeymoon -- absolutely wonderful! I had picked out a room ahead of time when I made the reservation (all the rooms are themed, you can go to their website to see them all). Upon arrival (pulled up to the front of the building), the rain was coming down as it does in Iowa -- pouring. A bellhop ran out and grabbed all our bags, tossed our keys to the valet guy, and ushered us inside. We went up to the front desk where we were promptly informed that we were being upgraded to a bigger suite! (free of charge). The bellhop immediately started us towards our suite, giving a brief tour on the way. The rooms are absolutely exquisite. Bed is huge. Bathroom had jacuzzi and big shower. Sitting room and furniture is comfortable. We enjoyed the complimentary bible, as well as the scripture verses that were subtley imprinted up on the wallpaper's border. The hotel was quiet, and we used the nice alarm clock to wake up to the next morning. Check-out was equally easy -- no hidden charges or surprises. We were more than impressed. (almost forgot, we ate at the diner onsite, and it was good, the food was delicious, and when the waitress found out we were on honeymoon, we got a free dessert!!)
