CHARMING
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/12/08
So charming. The hotel with it's "Old Southern" house and grounds is a beautiful place to stay. We have stayed in the main house and also the traditional hotel rooms. We were very pleased with both. Regardless of wheather you are looking for a romnatic getaway in the main house or an overnight stay in a traditional room, you will not be disappointed. Our son will soon attend Virginia Military Institue, so we will certainly be regular guests. Our highest recommendation for this hotel.

world's best hampton inn?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/27/07
I needed a place to stay while on a long drive, not knowing a thing about lexington and landing in town late at night by chance, without a reservation. I expected the normal hampton inn (a decent but synthetic stucco box next to the interstate) and when I pulled up the landscaped drive towards the mansion, I assumed that I had driven into the wrong area. I was very pleasantly surprised. also the main accomodation section of the hotel wasn't just a 1990's box with an antique facade, but a better quality building in itself. I agree with the other reviewers - aside from the location's architectural charm, it's a very well run operation.

Very Satisfied
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/06
My husband and I were passing thru the area around 8:00 PM on the evening of our 5th Anniversary. Upon entering the lovely lobby, we were told the hotel was sold out. After we explained our anniversary was that day, we were informed about some B&B rooms that were still available. They were kind enough to take us around to several of the rooms that we could pick from. We stayed in the Rose Greeley Room which was the smallest but had a nice jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was delivered as ordered the next day - they even called to make sure we were ready for it. Would definitely stay there if we pass thru again.

Great stop
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/06
The entrance is grand! Well landscaped. You feel like you are stepping back in history at the main desk (Old Virginia Colonial). My room was very clean, nice bedding, clean carpet, bathroom large and the room smelled clean. Good price, which includes, wireless internet and morning breakfast. Glad I stopped! Short drive off Interstate 81 in Lexington, Va. Would definately stop again.

I liked this hotel because of its location and its atmosphere. The support staff were more than helpful. Don't miss out. Stay in the special rooms inside the renovated house. Pat Westcott

Lexington's Best Kept Secret
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/19/06
What is there not to like? Some of the most gracious people we have ever met in our travels. We can't figure why Hampton doesn't let you know the Inn is in Lexington. Looking forward to being there again.
