Could Have Done Better

Upon arrival we were greeted very warmly, had our luggage brought up to our room promptly, given a tour along the way. We had a crib waiting for us and even baby towels and baby wash. It was so nice for them to go the extra mile. However, we were also promised a reserved fridge (booked 6 months in advance and called and confirmed a week in advance). When I checked in I was told it was in my room. It wasn't there, so I called down and they said they would be up immediately with it. An hour and a half later I called back and got the manager who was very rude and told me it was not a confirmed reservation and they are on a first come first serve basis and they were all out due to having to hold some back for people with medical emergencies. The best he could do for me was to take me to Wal-Mart to buy my own cooler!!! Also, why did they never call me back and tell me they were not on their way with the fridge instead of having me wait an hour and half before I had to call them. However, my cousin who was also staying at the hotel, got a fridge, which she didn't request. She checked in 10 minutes before me and her room wasn't ready, so they comped her a fridge! I was shocked since the manager had told me he had to hold them back for people with medical emergencies, not that he had comped them(don't understand why they would comp someone a fridge when they don't have enough for the people who requested them)! I went down and let the front desk know this and they were so nice about it. However the manager was still very rude and would never own up to the lie he was caught in. He also told me on the phone he only had 10 fridges for the hotel, then when I was in front of him he said 20 to 30, but told someone else he only had 8 (so which was it?). He also blamed everyone but himself and would only offer me a free breakfast in return! However, the front desk staff more then made up for it. The rest of the staff was so nice, from housekeeping, to wait staff, to front desk and parking attendants...they seemed to anticipate our needs. Prior to staying there I had read several reviews about paper thin walls, and I also agree. I don't think I slept more then 3 hours a night due to all of the noise. All in all I think the customer service (except for the manager) was phenomenal, it was beautiful hotel, the breakfast was great, and the views were amazing. But every little thing costs you, and the paper thin walls, and the way I was treated by that manager would keep me from staying there again.
