Don\"t waste your money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/11
Being a business owners, my husband and I just wanted to get away for the weekend and "destress". We have stayed at this place before but it had to be different owners. The first night we stayed there was fighting and arguing going on outside our room that continued on till 4:00 in the morning. When we left for breakfast there was beer cans scattered all about in the lobby. We should have left that day but we had already paid for 2 nights and thought that it would be different the next night. We was wrong!! The next night at 11:00 our phone rang and it was the front desk calling to say that we only paid for 1 night. Upon having to explain all of the events of our check in and having to remind him of our cash transaction, he just kept apoligizing for calling and said that he would have to go over his records in the morning. Someone must have ran out of beer money. What a way to ruin what we thought would be possibly a good nights sleep. At 2:00 in the morning the partying and the shouting started again. At 8:45 the next morning we went to the lobby to turn in our key. The door was locked. Upon ringing the door bell and knocking on the door for 5 minutes someone finally opened the door. We gave them our key and left, never ever to return again. The rates were low but the management was even lower.

Worst Motel Ever!
By shaneh, 5/23/11
This motel is by far the worst accommodations I have ever stayed at. It began when we pulled in. I am not necessarily one to "judge a book by it's cover but it looks and feels like the motel from 'Psycho.' But we forged on and gave the place it's chance. Online and over the phone, we were promised that there is wifi throughout every room. However, after checking in, we learned that it is only in the lobby and some of the nearby rooms. We specifically picked this place because it had free wifi, something we needed in order to work while we were here. When we went to ask about it, we were greeted with rude customer service. After 5 minutes of arguing, they finally agreed to move us closer to the lobby so we could get wifi. However, moving closer posed even more problems. Although we now had wifi, we were also close to the construction guys who were renovating the rooms. They would sit outside our room, smoking, drinking, and talking extremely loud. This would go on until midnight and start up again around 6 in the morning. As far as the room itself, it is like a cheap motel with green carpet, extremely hard, springy mattresses that are horrible to sleep on, and a lime green bathroom. I am usually one to give something a chance, but I am writing this as a warning to anyone else who attempts to come here....SAVE YOURSELF, DON'T DO IT!

Relaxing and nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/23/10
Got back this morning from a weekend at Lake Erie and it was a really nice experience. If you're on a budget and still want a clean, friendly, nice atmosphere - then this is the place for you. I'm in the area a lot and I will always go back here.

Really great place
By TR, 3/19/10
I was here recently with my friends and it was really good. The rooms are so clean and spacious and so affordable. The staff was very helpful and responsive. They have a new breakfast area which is a must to check out. Definitely do not miss out on staying here if you're in the neighborhood. Don't look elsewhere.

Great place
By mahi, 6/14/09
I stayed here recently with my husband. The place was affordable. We come here for fishing. The place looks new and better. I loved the breakfast area, the staff were extremely nice, they open their pool early for us. Its more of a family orientated place and i would recommend to all fisher men, boating people also family members.

Don't expect a lakeview
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/05
If the name of this place conjures up for you thoughts of cozy cabin-type lodging with a scenic lake view- forget it. It is not on the lake. You can't even see the lake. It is located on busy Presque Isle Drive with a view of Backyard Burger across the street, Mcdonalds, another motel and a cemetery. The rooms are basic- no ammentities such as microwave or mini fridge, safe, or blowdryer. The motel has only one room with a king size bed. If you do book this room watch out while standing in the shower as the tub is very slippery. I lost my footing. Also, they advertise a fireplace in the lobby/office. It had antlers in it. No fire. They said they fire it up when it gets cold. It was cold. Seeing that they close at the end of October for the season, and we were there mid-October, one must ponder when- if ever- do they use it? As far as heating the room- they offered us portable heaters.
