Unpleasant Experience

I am a road warrior and constantly stay at Hampton Inns because the quality and service is always consistent- except at the Hampton Inn in Russellville. The hotel's decor is maroon and green and is very dated with big silk flower arrangements. My hotel room was probably one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The room next door had a problem with the tub and they had to put chemicals in it, and the smell leaked into my room. When entering the hotel room I was overpowered by it's dampness and pungent odor and I immediately went back to the front desk. They then remarked that the hotel was full and could not move me, and then handed me a bottle of airfreshener. The staff was friendly and tried to be understanding, however, I found that it was unacceptable that someone would be placed in that room to begin with. Also, the pillows were extremely lumpy and the hotel was loud and noisy- there were even people out in the hall drinking beer. I frequent Arkansas Tech on business, however, I will not be staying at the Hampton on my next visit.
