Excellent Service

The best thing about this hotel is the STAFF. From checking in, to the shuttle driver, to the woman who worked night, everyone went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The pool was clean, the rooms were clean, and the rate was affordable. The front desk staff went out of their way to be sure my family members had the amenities they needed - toothbrushes, etc. Enjoyed the fun drive on the shuttle to the Mohegan Sun. We also enjoyed a family trip to the Bowling Alley which was a recommendation. Super place! Kudos to the staff at this Marriott.

NEVER AGAIN--SERVICE & ACCOMODATIONS WERE TERRIBLE

My friends & I stayed at the Courtyard Norwich over a weekend when we were attending a concert at Mohegan Sun. During the night we found ants in our bathroom and then in the morning our toilet overflowed and the bathroom had to be dried and sanitized. Instead of getting up and starting our day, we had to wait until this was taken care of. We were in our pajamas, stuck in the room and couldnt use the shower or the toilet. Not a fun way to start the morning. The main issue was the rudeness of the Manager and Assistant Manager. We were asked if we counted the bugs & also what did we flush down the toilet. While they gave us $50 off the bill, they were nasty and very unprofessional when we made the complaint and in the lobby as we checked out. Calls to the corporate office only routed us back to this same Manager as they said it was up to him what the outcome would be. We are very disappointed how the hotel treated us and also how the corporation didnt even try to resolve the dispute. Never again would we stay at a Courtyard or any Marriot Hotel if this is the way they treat their guests and resolve issues.

Great way to Escape

Stayed one night to attend Billy Joel Concert at Mohegan sun. Marriott is convenient off the exit;good size clean room;newspaper delivered to your door in the morning;very pleasant and helpful staff; free shuttle to/from Mohegan Sun (which started at 3:50pm and the last one back left the casino at 2:20am; in a brand new Ford van.It picked us up exactly where it left us off with no problem. This included vouchers for a free buffet at the Sun (or $10 towards any restaurant) and a $10 free play voucher for each of us.There is an Italian restaurant next door and a bowling alley across the street.For the price you can't beat it. We will definitely do this again.

The staff is very unfriendly and unprofessional. While this hotel carries the Marriott name it does not examplify the Marriott values and service. Also, during our stay, the hotel even ran out of water in its vending machine and there was no place to even purchase a bottle or get some ice. As for the rooms, they need some upgrading and maintenance. Would never stay here again.

Staff was great

A family medical emergency caused my stay at the Norwich Marriott. While I didn't pay a lot of attention to the actual accommodations, the staff was exemplary. They met all my requests, from finding a charger for my cell phone which was not packed because of my hasty departure from home, to making sure that overnighted packages were in my room when I returned at night. They offered suggestions to dining in the area, quickest routes to services, and were genuinely attentive to my well being. I have been back twice for medical reasons and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The room was comfortable. The only criticism was was the noise from the bathroom fan was extremely loud
