Sunrise Motel, Tybee Island

After we payed we payed for our room for 3 nights ($450) he took us to our room and told us he would be our key man. he wouldnt give us a key soo I got upset and said I want my money back . he then promised we would get one later. which we never got one! Them the house keepers asked us for tips and oney which we only got One soap and two towels for the # days we wear there! STAY AWAY! DONT GO! and make sure you have a key before you pay because he want give you your money back!

My husband and I stayed 7/15 to 7/17 on Tybee island Rodeway Inn. We have friends& family status. We met with 2 friends staying at the Desoto & had a great 2 days. At checkout Saturday, Mr Patel came into our room at 10:30am while I was packing. 1 friend was sitting at table in the room to spend a little more time before we left. My husband snores so I slept on the sofa.Patel assumed that my friend stayed in room due to folded blanket on sofa. He asked how many people stay in the room and I said my husband and I this is my friend that arrived to the island yesterday. We said bye to her & she left. Then a man said "housekeeper, you tip me". I don't mind tipping , they work hard. My husband took the key &complained about the worker.I checked my bank online to be sure was accurate for our island stay. Mr Patel charged 48.00 upon leaving the hotel. I called & he said "extra person 2 days $24.00 per day" & he hung up. We left our room which was a King Suite due to his snoring. If this is a Choice permitted behavior to charge guests cards after they have paid for the room in full, then we will never stay at another Choice hotel

Mold on the wall in the bathroom. Plaster chipping off the walls. Smelled like urin. Uncovered electrical outlet for room coffee maker. No coffee at breakfast bar, if you could call it that. It was very dirty, nt eating utensils.The older Indian man that ran the place was pleasent, but the place needs a complete overhaul. The $120 a night room was worth about $20 if you were desperate for a room.

Gentleman in front office very wise ..enjoyed talking with him...you can tell this hotel has been around a while..they are trying to fix it up but has a way to go .new paint but fixtures loose and or busted..sheets appear clean and carpet was vaccumed ..had a whirlool tub but would not use...looking for a cheap hotel not extremely bad but does need help

When we checked in, the lobby was dirty. Then when we got to the room, it smelled bad. It was hot, the bed sheets had stains (On both beds). The tv did not show. The towels were placed as if someone just threw them up there. I have a 2 yr old and she did not even want to use the bathroom. I checked in @ about 11:30pm. We had to leave and find another hotel all the way in downtown Savannah. And we booked the room for 2 nights and they charged us $135 a nite. But I can say after we found another hotel, Rodeway inn did refund us our money. We stayed at the Four Points in downtown Savannah, That was a breath of fresh air. I would send anyone there. And they were cheaper.

This hotel is a great price, and I preferred it being one street over from the beach. It was quite yet in the center of the island. Everything is about 1 minute away.

When we tried to check in,...we were told by a woman who could barely speak english to come back later. She indicated that the manager was in town and for us to come back later that night. How does this place stay open ? Ridiculous.
