Front Desk Should Learn Customer Service Skills
Your mission statement At Comfort Inn, We Strive For Total Guest Satisfaction obviously does not apply to this hotel. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, we observed the complete opposite of that statement. I was surprise to find how little your front desk staff member know about customer service.
We made our request for a roll away bed as we were checking in. Your front desk staff informed us that they had no to give out. That was the start of our problems with the front desk staff.
We called the front desk staff to request for some pillow. The staff told us that we would have to come down to the deck to pick them up. My husband went down to discover that they had only one pillow to give out.
We discovered that the sinks drain stopper did not work in our room. At one point the doors to the only elevator would go back and forth before finally closing. We were disappointed in the fact that the only ice machine and drink vending machine was on the second floor. There was no bottled water available in the only vending machine in the hotel.
Our housekeeper was kind enough to give us three more pillows and bottled water. She also found us a roll away bed to use. She told us that the front desk staff refuse to do anything to help out their guests. It was quite obvious to my family that she was right.
The pool was closed until 5 p.m. and stayed open 'til 10 p.m. That was when a lifeguard would be on duty. It was closed one night due to unforeseen mechanical problem. But it was open the next day at 5 p.m.
The front desk staff showed no thanks or gratitude for our business when my family checked out.
From talking to the other members of our family who were staying at the same hotel, they were inconvenience as well. One of our relatives had to buy another room for their nurse who aids their son with MS because of the roll away bed situation. That was the last straw of our inconvenience with the West Mufflin Comfort Inn.
Our family members who stayed at the hotel, include my family as well, have agreed not to stay at this Comfort Inn hotel.
