Comfort Inn Boardwalk Area, Santa Cruz

For a place to sleep near the beach it was good. Room was reasonably clean. It had a good shower and hair dryer. Decent TV and Refrigerator. Breakfast provided. It is an easy walk to the beach. I feared we might have parking problems but we didn't. Glad we rented a small car. I will return to the ComfortInn.

My daughter and her friend both 19 years old talked with the person working last night 5/31/06 and was quoted a price for 3 nights. I was in the room with them when they received the quote on speaker phone. They went there today 6/1/06 and a rude woman in charge said it would be more and that they were liers and weren't of age. She called them bad names and cussed at them. She told them to get out and billed their credit card for tonights stay and called it a cancelation charge. My daughters friend is in tears and now they don't know where to stay and I'm miles away.

close & comfortable. Breakfast was awesome & the beach was a short walk. Very safe.I dont know what everyone else is thinking dude. But yeah. Good.

Spent 1 night this week at the Comfort Inn Beach Boardwalk hotel. The neighborhood is BAD and i didn't feel comfortable walking around much. but it is walking distance to the boardwalk and probably as the season progresses the safety issue isn't as severe with more tourists walking about. I was disappointed to go to the boardwalk at 5:15 PM to find everything had closed for the day! even tho it was June 13, school hadn't let out and the official season had not begun. There were alot of lost and unhappy people wandering around looking for food and rides at 5:30! crazy to shut it down so early when the daytime was hopping with activity. Back to the hotel...The parking was terrible, very small lot, really tight to move in and impossible to access the disabled parking spot because of the pools chain link fence. The pool is funny, more like the world's smallest pool, but some kids were enjoying themselves enough in it. Parking is a small problem and the Super 8 next door has much better parking. This hotel boasts whirlpool tubs, but the plug didn't work, so you couldn't take one if you wanted to! and I wouldn't want to in this place. However the desk clerk and housekeeper were very nice and let me check in early. This is far from a luxury hotel. it was OK, but i wouldn't stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel because of its proximity to the boardwalk, but it would have been better to stay farther away (and pay less)! The parking is very limited, and it has the world's smallest swimming pool - more like a hot tub! The room itself was okay, but the air conditioner didn't work at all and when I complained, the manager just said "sorry" with no offer to decrease our bill. Finally, after dark it is a very scary neighborhood. We walked from our hotel to a restaurant near the boardwalk and I was worried the whole time about being mugged.

Dirty, Hard to find, Too cramped, Breakfast was awful, Dirty sheets, and in a scary neighborhood. I felt unsafe.
