Hyatt Place San Antonio Northwest, San Antonio

Quiet and nice pillows. Big TV and refrigerator Not as clean as you would expect. Staff did not provide freshly washed glasses and wipe all surfaces. Breakfast is not much to write home about but there is a Panera and La Madelaine's close by. There are restaurants and bars within walking distance. Not quite a nice Courtyard Marriott but a bit easier on the pocketbook.

I visit San Antonio every year to take my family to Fiesta TX, Sea World and the River Walk. We always stayed at the Hyatt when I in San Antonio. However, during my last stay (July 2009) at this location my laptop was stolen from my room. At first the local management staff seemed concerned, however once I left the hotel the GM would not return any of my phone calls. Not only did I file a police report and a claim against the hotels insurance, but I also filed a complaint on hyatt.com. Hotel management was non responsive and the only concern came months later after I advised the Assistant GM that I would no longer stay or recommend any Hyatt due to the lack of concern or communication during the entire ordeal. The complaint I filed on the Hyatt website I did received a response via email back on 11/09/2009 from the Hyatt Hotels Consumer Affairs advising me that due to the complexity of the complaint it would be forwarded to executive management for follow up. Now 4 months after receiving that email I still have not received any sort of follow up. Again, shows their lack of concern and communication. Honestly I never expected this type of treatment from the Hyatt. Im extremely disapointed and will NEVER stay at another Hyatt.

however, check-in staff was very helpful. We will be here until Tues...sigh...should have listened to the other reviews...way far from the action on the river...the room is okay - the bathroom (toilet/shower area) is ridiculously small and it has an in-room AC unit - just like you would find at a LaQuinta. Honestly, it's okay. It's clean. It's just for the money, I expected a lot more. There is a balcony, tho., and once the weather cools off, it would be a nice place to sit and have a cocktail. On a side note, I hate stains and there's a nice big pink stain on the carpet. yuck. It does have a fridge and a one cup at a time coffee maker. If youw ant to watch DVDs, it has a place for you to plug in a cable to watch on the very nice TV.

I've stayed in the area many times and the Hyatt was the best. The hotel was clean and the staff were the friendliest group of people. The breakfast area was small and offered very little but it was still an enjoyable stay.

This was our first time at the Hyatt. We were very pleased with everything. The staff was very efficient and friendly. There was security on the grounds. The room was so big. It was like being at home. My husband loved the tv.I loved the beds. This is probably the best hotel we have stayed at in a long time. I will recommend it to our friends and we will definately stay again. If you get a chance, stay at the Hyatt. Its worth it..

It was like the song Hotel California.....Nothing worked...for a new hotel. the internet didn't work, or it did for a little while and then I had to wait and hour for customer support three times. The coffee pot didn't work and it took 2 hours to get another one. The air conditioner didn't work...it was extremely expensive...for the price go to a real hotel where people actually can help with your bags.

Spent 7 nights in May...2nd night experienced power outage & was locked in elevator for 2 hours with no emergency button -had to be rescued. No hot water on 2 separate occasions, had to check out on departure date without a shower. No WI-FI as promised, no liquor license yet. Slippery tiles due to pool access. Bathroom very small, not the cleanest. During our stay there was constant renovation occurring, unattended ladders in common walkways & unattended electrical tools at base of stairwell. Not the safest if traveling with small children. Only one ice machine in the lobby of hotel. On the positive side, staff were friendly & courteous, even when apologizing for the hotel's shortcomings. Accomodations totally inadequate, therefore not a bargain.

The staff (especially Michelle) was very personable, warm, and geniune. The room was outstanding inclusive of an enormous TV. Customer service is what makes this a hotel a home away from home. I shall seek a Hyatt Place in my future travels. Thank you.

We booked our room about 2 months in advance and requested a King size bed - or at least a queen. We were told that we would have a King. When we arrived in our room, there were 2 very small full size beds. I promptly called the front desk and was told that they could not help us. My wife and I were forced to sleep in separate beds for 2 nights. The staff did not seem concerned at all that they told us 1 thing and delivered another. Our room was also dirty. There was a thick layer of dirt on the carpet in areas where the vacuum would not easily fit. The bathroom was not very clean either. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

I enjoyed the friendly faces and friendly people. My experice was nothing but total relaxation. The only problem I did have with my room was that my toilet was clogged up when I got there and kept clogging up during my stay. It was a 3 day stay and I had to keep a plunger in my room.
