Overall a decent place to stay, though the value depends on how much you pay for your room. The hotel is located across the street from a large mall (Eastgate) which is nice if you need to pick up any souvenirs/supplies and also has a nice selection of restauratns to eat at (I recomment the Cioa Baby Cucina Italian restaurant!). The surrounding neighborhood is a mix of business and residential so it is safe to walk over to the mall. There is good security at the hotel with a gated entrance. The rooms are like suites with open air entrances. The two bedroom suites are nice for a family and most of the rooms have a kitchen in them with a refrigerator, microwave, cutlery, etc. Select rooms have a washing machine (no dryer). The rooms themselves are simple and nice, though they don't have irons or ironing boards as these must be requested from housekeeping. Cable is rather limited at around ten channels or so. There is a nice breakfast in the morning, though it is rather expensive at around ten dollars per person. The wireless Internet only works in the lobby. The pool is only slightly larger than a bathtub so I wouldn't book here if that is what you are looking for. The staff is friendly and pretty responsive to your requests. I would recommend this place for someone staying in Joburg for an extended period of time, be it vacation or on business.
