Loyal customer no more!!
I have stayed at this hotel (mainly because of location and value) several times over the past year or so. It is a halfway point on a trip I repeat quarterly throughout the year. I've had really no major complaints until this last trip. I'll begin with the lack-luster front desk help, who seemed rather irritated to have that job. And who couldn't be bothered to help my daughter with a malfunctioning pool door. On top of everything, we discovered that our hotel room door was broken, wouldn't latch or deadbolt, and had no choice but to switch rooms...at 11pm. Nevermind the fact that we were in our PJ's, had two cats and a dog with us, and were about to turn in for the night when we discovered the broken door. I am sure our neighboring guests just loved hearing us shuffle down the hall, opening and closing doors - repeatedly! (My apologies to anyone we disturbed) Our new room had a fully functioning door and lock, but now no fridge! This was ridiculous! We called it a night, and in the morning I expressed my disgust to the desk clerk who suggested I contact the manager...who was out of town...wouldn't be back for four days....figures! When I contacted the manager, he offered to compensate me on my next stay, which would've been the next evening...he never communicated his intentions to the night staff, and I decided I could stand to drive a little further for a decent hotel with a bit more class...which wasn't hard to find! I will now be making my reservations at Drury Inn in Columbia, MO. By far the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure of visiting.
