Super 8 Fargo I 29 West Acres Mall, Fargo

My wife and I stayed in this hotel, I made a mistake and booked the wrong weekend, with the help of the girl at the front desk, we thought all was good. WRONG!! The following Friday, someone from the hotel attempted to put charges on the credit card. Not just once but 9 times with 8 different amounts!! I have one of those loadable credit cards so nothing was charged on it, (get one, they are the safest things you can use on line). I called the hotel and asked for the manager, I was told that she wasn't available, but I could leave a message, which I did. After 2 hours and no call back, I called the hotel, and this time I was informed that she wasn't in, when I asked why I wasn't told that the first time, the girl hung up on me. I then contacted the head office in Nj, at first the conversation was going ok, but then I caught her in some lies and that more or less ended the conversation. She seemed more interested in why I was wasteing her time then on trying to figure out who at the hotel was trying to steal money and commit credit card fraud. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! I then found the head office number in NJ and contacted them. At first I was impressed with the call, but then all went south.

We were with a group and had the WORST treatment ever!!! When we checked in the front desk girl was the rudest person ever!!! She acted like we were bothering her by checking into the hotel. Later, 2 little girls found a condom under the matress of one room and in another they found men's underware in the safe. The pool had a scum floating on top and a broken window in the game room. The front desk staff yelled at our kids and parents for being a "fire hazard" for standing in the doorway of our rooms talking. The hotel staff locked the door to the game room and wouldn't unlock it until we left, claming that we broke the window. They also said our kids put virues on the "guest computer" when none of our kids ever touch their computer. We talked to other guests that were not with our group asking how their stay was and they were treated just as badly. We had a group of parents that were waiting for a cab and were told they were not allowed to wait in the lobby for it to show up that they had to wait in their room or outside when it was 10 below. The front desk staff was so rude and unhelpfull I don't know how they stay in business. Do yourself a favor and stay someplace else.

On the way to Fargo, I called Super 8 and was told that this Super 8 charged $4 per small dog; however, when I arrived, the clerk told me that the charge was $10 per dog. No matter what I said, the clerk would not lower the price. I called the reservation site, and they said that the hotel should honor the $4, but Super 8 at West Acres did not. When there is a policy that there is a no cancelation policy, I consider the actions of this motel a bait and switch. In addition, the breakfast is about the worst I have ever had at any motel that serves a continental breakfast. We were also in a room in which the footsteps of the customer above us reverberated throughout our room in the morning. This is the second time I stayed at this motel and the second time that I have had a less-than-desirable experience. The first time, the Super 8 reservation person gave the wrong directions to this hotel. While I was there, I overheard another customer complain that there was no wake-up call as he requested.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Super 8 recently. I had forgotten a couple of things in the room, so we called back a half an hour after we left and they said they hadn't cleaned the room yet so when they do they will put them into the lost and found. We went back to the hotel a couple of hours later and went inside to get my forgotten items and they said they could not find them. Then they said that the person who cleaned the room was "one of their better employees". Sadly, I never got my stuff back and I don't know what became of it. I will never stay there again with such a dishonest staff.
