no swimming pool in building
By A., 11/11/08
I thought the service was okay, but the advertising of an "indoor pool" deceptive. The pool is actually in the hotel next door, which the guest has access to. I feel it inconvenient to walk across the parking lot with swimming things, and walk back cold and wet after a swim--especially in the winter time. Kind of defeats one of the purposes of the "indoor" portion. The hotel is okay, but showing some signs of wear. Maybe they are still in the process of updating it. The breakfast was cereal, oatmeal, bagels or donuts. Not so much choice. For some reason they had syrup, but no french toast or waffles. ??? Maybe a recent menu change. Overall I would stay there again if they would get the door locks fixed so that one could see if the key card was unlocking the door or not--caused a bit of problems when I first checked in. Fortunately they were able to fix the lock so I could get back in when I returned to the room later that evening. The follow-up to this problem was good--the desk clerk specifically asked me if everything had been resolved. The room was quiet, even though it seemed to be pretty busy there and at the hotel next door.

great loaction and price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/3/08
We love the park and fly service for the airport. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Front desk staff was helpful. All that for very reasonable price. We will be going back next time when we have to fly out from the quad city airport

What a dump!
By Ro, 10/15/07
I've never walked into a hotel room and got online right away to give a review. I have a "close to the front door" note in my profile. I got a room 4 hallways down from the front, it could barely be further away. There was a dirty towel on the bathroom door, filthy wallpaper and debris on the bathroom floor, the clock didn't work. When I complained, they got me a room only 2 doors down. It was slightly cleaner. The TV is only 21", the bedding hasn't been upgraded, I've never stayed at a worse HIE, one of my favorite chains. If my work travel agency hadn't already been closed for the day, I would have gone somewhere else. Go to the Hampton Inn by the airport instead!

Old Motel - New Name
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/05
Not sure what name this hotel started life with, but it was not Holiday Inn Express. This is an old "renovated" structure. The renovations look kinda crummy in a lot of areas. Overall the place was fairly clean, if not a bit tired. The airconditioning was not functioning when I was visiting. Now, it was about 20 degrees outside, but the hotel is built with the rooms in the center of the hotel and the halls on the outside, so there was no opening windows. No electrical outlets near the desk, lighting at the desk was poor, straight chair, instead of office chair. WiFi was very week in my room, hit or miss on loading pages. Room was updated with HI-Express shower, soaps, breakfast. Upside to this place was the it's located close to a shopping area with a mall, Office Max, several restaurants. Also very close to the highway interchange and airport. There was several other hotels on this plot, including some that look better and some that look worse. There's a Mariott owned hotel (Fairfield?) that looks very nice. I think I'll check them out next time I'm in town. If you love HI-Express for their nifty new buildings... you'll not be satisfied here.
