Las Americas Beach Resort, Cartagena

I have to say I really had great stay! I mean, everything was good. It was really nice having a beach front room. Las Americas Global Resort services and staff was nothing short of fabulous. This resort was really clean as well. In short, loved it!!!

The best thing about this hotel is the food. It has the best seafood in Cartagena. The beach is brown and ugly and the water is the same however, the sand is soft and the water is clean. Try to get a PentHouse, they open on various sides and are still quite good priced. The down is that you have to take a taxi at night, but it takes less than ten minutes to get to the old city. Also it's a fun ride, you go through the little barrio of crespo and hear all sorts of tropical music. I have stayed there twice and really to be in Cartagena you need to be in the old town Cartagena, being outside of it you may as well go to any hotel anyway else that has a beach and hot weather.

Like a private club resort, Nice pools, good food, very nice suites, two to three minutes from the airport, Come out of your suite and walk onto your nice clean private beach that is not poluted. Nice romantic place for two and great for families. Gym works but not the best Many fun and interesting things to do in Caratgena, There are other very good hotels in the hotel district similar to waikiki, but none have a private clean unpoluted beach. Come out of your hotel walk across the street on to public beach.

Overall our stay at Las Americas was 5 Star. We were treated very well by the entire staff. Definately will be going back and staying there in Cartagena.

The service was excellent. The hotel setting is beautiful, but the lobby has only fans and it is very hot, especially in July and August. The breakfast buffet was superb. We loved it and will go back whenever we are in Cartagena.

It is far from the city, crowded, and the pool was dirty. The only thing I liked was the weather. The weather was worm, sunny and there was a constant breez in the pool. But the hotel itself was not worth it at all.

Next time you go to Cartagena, make sure you stay in a Colonial house. They offer all the services big hotels offer, combined with the intimacy of a home. I staid at Casa El Carretero, it is the best colonial house in town. I recommend it to all.

I was here back in Thanksgiving 2005. This is the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in the 5 years I've been going to Colombia! Cheaper and better than the Hilton. I will be back there in '06.

it is an excellent place , i felt so relaxed in that place i wouldnt want to return to france. you must go there and enjoy the best thing the hotel adn the city cangive you

I have been able to travel quite a bit. This hotel / resort is my favorite spot. You can go and just totally relax even if you take your kids on vacation. They have a special little club just for them they have an activities director and the children are taught everything from dancing to art. They also have contests and games scheduled a few times through out the day in the pool. Their service was so great that on one day it was raining and my kids were at the Dolphin Club and I needed to pick them up but it wa raining. They wrapped my kids up in towels, and they carried the umbrellas for them. Their service has always been so spectacular that we have now returned about 7 times.
