Sleep Inn Sandusky, Sandusky

For the amount of money they want to charge, it should be a four star hotel. This was a hotel/motel stay for me and my family.The bathroom was clean,but the beds were too low and the mattresses are cheap. This was definitely a 2 star hotel. It should be $60 a night, instead charging guests $80 or more. Not worth the price. If you are going to call it Sleep Inn, I should be able to sleep on a good, expensive mattress.

I was a guest at this hotel and went down for the continental breakfast on our first day of our stay. The person handling the food had gloves on and was cleaning a table. She left the same pair of gloves on and went to the breads and muffins and moved them around. Wash your hands and change your gloves!!! The front desk staff were friendly and even gave us a 15% walk in discount because we had left a hotel down the street.

The pool was cloudy. The room was dirty. In the morning we found a note in the bed stand from someone who apologized that they couldn't clean the room because there was too much stuff on the beds. The elevator was broken. The "free" breakfast had food that looked like it was they type that if it wasn't eaten it could be pulled out for the next day...and the next day. The bed was really uncomfortable and the tv didn't have a clear reception. There wasn't any HBO. Really, with all the hotels I would not suggest this one.

After being assured our 2 rooms would be held until late evening (went to Cedar Point) we had our rooms changed due to "electrical problems?" Not sure I believed that! We had reserved 2 NS-DB rooms with Micro & fridge. Ended up with 1 NS-King & 1 NS Q with conference style room attached with 2 pull down out of the wall Q & 1 sofa bed (had no micro or fridge). Front desk made it sound like a beautiful suite! It was not! Not sparkling clean, but thought is was OK until my daughter & I came home with bites on back & legs from our room. The breakfast bar was not good. Waffles served only on weekends, basically cereal, drinks, donuts & a little fruit. The staff was very nice and friendly, however.

The staff was nice and helpful but the hotel was a mess! The outside looks great. The inside was run down and dirty. The pool was cloudy. We won't stay here again.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. The hotel is convenient to the highway yet only a few minutes from Cedar Point. The housekeeping staff was awesome. The room was clean and tidy. My daughter loved the pool!. The hot tub was not working properly when we first got there due to a storm the previous night, but upon notification the hotel staff had it up and running within minutes. We will stay there again without a doubt.

I was anticipating the usual budget motel in a so/so location, but I was pleasantly surprised. The motel was located in a nice, new retail/restaurant area. The front desk staff was very friendly and competent. They called my room after check-in to ask if everything was to our liking and if we needed anything. The room was clean, and everything was in excellent condition. An in-room safe was provided. The swimming pool and hot tub were well-maintained. I whole-heartedly recommend this motel to others. It was perfect.
