drove 400 - Hotel staff overbooked our reserved rooms!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/06
Several of us have made a trip to Harrahs Council Bluffs several times a year - We also have family and friends right across the river and we always bring in a crowd to both the casino and the rooms a few times of the year. Up until recently, even prior to the remodeling, the rooms, buffet and casino were among the best.
Tha all changed 11/03/06.
Having reservations for the nights of 11/03 and 11/04, we reserved the rooms with a credit card since we knew we would not arrive until 23:00 PM.
Friday the 3rd, we loaded up, called the Harrahs desk to confirm our confirmations and were told we had no problem.
23:30 PM we arrive, tired from a trip pf 400 miles, and were told that our rooms had been given up - that they were sorry but they had overbooked!!! We had written confirmation, made two calls to make sure we woulld have no problemprior to leaving, drove 400 miles and were told we had to go to another hotel. The staff very indifferent and told us we had to go to downtown Omaha to get a room. We arrived at the new hotel and were told Haraah's staff had never informed them. They had to contact Harrah's to verify.
We finally got in a room at 02:30 - needless to say it ruined the week-end.
As much as we have enjoyed Harrahs Council Bluffs in the past, it is extremely poor customer service not to honor a confirmed reservation(from 400 miles away), to overbook, AND FOR THE STAFF, ESPECIALLY THE MANANGER ON DUTY 11/03/06, TO
BE INDIFFERENT OF THE SITUATION THE HOTEL PUT US IN.
Our business, as well as the many friend and family who have dropped considerable sums in the past, will now contribute our monies to Harrah's competitor -
Harrahs Council Bluffs The worst customer service staff I have encountered
Won't be back
