not up to snuff in my book

We were very disappointed with the facility. There is no fan exhaust system in the bathroom. Room was not a clean as I think it should be. Twice I found long dark hair on the just replaced pillow case, not mine. The staff at the front desk is not very friendly either. Also poor communication. We told the staff at the front desk 3 times that we were staying for 3 nights, they continued to think we were staying 2 nights. The only friendly person at the desk was there the morning we checked out. On a good note, the breakfast was very, very good and we did enjoy that.

no likes, service was poor , room was dirty, towels were not changed daily unless you asked and waited forever to get clean ones. Bed spread was dirty when asked if it could be changed I was told they do not change them daily. I had jewelry stolen while I was at the Lexington Horse Center. Never any complimentary coffee made also had to ask for someone to make it, Bathroom was filthy tub had scum and hair in it. Outsiders came in to use the pool they were not registered as guests but because they knew someone at the hotel they were allowed to come in and use the pool, we could not use it because about a dozen people had come in. MY friend got a handicap room and got scabies.Would not recommend this hotel, better off sleeping in your car,.

T-Bones Grill...glad we did!

We have stayed at this hotel before and always eat at least one meal at G.Willakers. This time when we arrived I saw that it is now T-Bones Grill and the menu looked great. The food did not disappoint, my crab cakes and sides we very good and my husband and kids loved their ribs. We look forward to eating at T-Bones again!

NEW T-Bones Grill is GREAT!!!!!

Ate at the new T-Bones Grill (formerly G.Willakers) this weekend and it was great. All of the food was absolutely incredible. Best ribs and smoked salmon anywhere. Other favorites enjoyed by my family were the brisket sandwich and a pulled BBQ sandwich. I also read that the Chef/Owner was trained at the famed Greenbriar Resort just down the rd in WV.

We love dinning at G Willikers!

We travel from Roanoke to Northern VA often and we always plan to have dinner at G Willikers. One of our favorite meals is the baked chicken with spaghetti, although we have tried many of their specials and desserts and we have been pleased every time. The portions are big and the prices are very reasonable, while the staff has been friendly and the over all service satisfactory. Because Lexington is so close to home, we have not experienced a stay at the Best Western Hotel.

Disappointment at G. Willikers - Best Western

Very disappointed in the service, drinks and quality of food at G Willikers and Hobbi located at Best Western, 25 Willow Spring Road, Lexington Virginia. G. Willikers was recommended by the staff at Best Western and by attendees at the Virginia Horse Center during our visit between April 6th and the 11th of 2009. Unfortunately our experience was not rewarding. The service was slow, four tables seated after ours were served and completed their meals before we were served our main course. Mixed drinks were less than appetizing and quite frankly seemed to be watered down the white Russians were replace but with no apology or a return from the manager (who delivered the second drink) or the waitress as to if it were satisfactory. The creaser salad’s came with peppercorn ranch dressing, tomatoes (on ceaser??) were not ripe; bread requested at the time of order and was not served till late in the meal. The over all wait staff was unfriendly not only at our table but at others. The check included a tip, with the service that was provided a tip was not warranted. I discussed the meal and service with the manager who gave the “I don’t care attitude” with no apology for the service or meal. What a contrast to other eateries in the area. Unless a sweep of management and service staff is made this eatery will not be recommended by these eleven patrons.

Nice but perferred the Wingate

Stayed at the Wingate on the way to VA Beach and at the Best Western on the way back. Wingate had the nicer pool, larger rooms, larger (softer) beds, and a nice continential breakfast (only got a $2 off coupon at Best Western).

g whillikers - it's great!!

I haven't stayed in the Inn, but the restaurant is great. I eat there everytime I visit the area and stay with my friends. My grandson loves it as well. We are moving to the area soon, and will try the hotel ammenities while looking for a home, and will enjoy many meals at G Whillikers.

Disappointed

This was the second time my husband and I had stayed here. The first time was a year ago,that stay was great! This last time, our room smelled like cat urine, there was something on the carpet by the window that looked like animal feces and the wallpaper was coming loose from the wall around the floor.It was late when we checked-in and we got the last room available, otherwise, we would have gone somewhere else.My husband told the manager about these things and all he was told was that she would let housekeeping know. We won't stay there again.

Best Horsey Hotel

We picked this hotel for its location - right down the street from the Virginia Horse Center. It was a very nice room - the bathroom was great, and everything was clean. Above all, there was a terrific restaurant attached as well. I recommend this hotel for anyone that needs a place to stay after a hard day of horse showing!
