Suburban Extended Stay Hilton Head, Bluffton

I have stayed here several times during the past year on business in the Hilton Head area and have usually had a good experience but this stay was certainly not a good one. At check in there was who appeared to be a drunk homeless man hanging around the front desk. In fact he was more thank hanging around he seemed to be leaning over the desk carring on some type of conversation with the desk clerk. I was somewhat afraid but continued with the check in process and went to my room. I needed a towel about an hour after check in so I returned to the front desk and was shocked to see that he was still there, in the same spot leaning over the desk. He could have been getting credit card information or even trying to find out what room I or other guests were occupying. This man lingered around the front desk the entire length of my stay. I was told by other guests that he is always there and seems to be very friendly with the front desk clerk and the manager. According to other guests they have complained but to no avail. I was intimidated and felt very disconcerted about this many being there each and every time I returned to the hotel in the evening. He was always leaning over the front desk and seemed to always be wispering to the clerk on duty and I could always detect the strong smell of alcohol when I passed by. As I said I have always had good experiences saying here and I still feel it is a good value for the money but after this experience I can't say I will stay here again. I felt it was very unprofessional for management to allow someone to linger at the desk like they allowed him to do. I have written a letter to the company in Georgia that owns this hotel in the hopes they will put a stop to this since the front desk at the hotel obviously does not care about this unprofessional behavior.

We loved that the Hotel is affordable and close to the island and to tanger outlets.

Me and my family really enjoyed our stay. Hotel was clean and saff was frendly i dont go by reviews of other some people are just Jaded

This hotel was nothing like the review i read. Great location and They exchange towels any time you need. Staff was was very helpful and we enjoyed our stay. The price was great and they do weekly rentials. Where else can you stay this close to Hilton Head For 40 dollars a night NO WHERE!! I will be back in 2008!
