You get what you pay for
By ,
The rooms here are very small. Anyone traveling with more than 3 people should consider some place else. Our friends were with us and they have 2 adults and 3 small kids. Too small for them. We requested to be next to our friends and were told they had a preferred room and we had a standard. Once we visited their room the only difference we noticed was a thicker mattress. They paid $12 extra for that! When you open the door you have to maneuver around because the bed is right in the doorway. My daughter hit her head several times on that door. The bathroom is also not very spacious. The door and the toilet are very close together as well. As far as the food goes there, we were there for a week and at the cafeteria it was the same food everyday. Lunch and dinner offered the same things. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you don't mind small and inconvenient.

Couldn't be happier!
By ,
We've stayed at this resort three times now, and love it even more each time we go! The room is always nice and clean, Mousekeeping was great, bus service was very efficiant, food court had a great variety, theming is awesome, and the whole atmosphere is absolutely magical! We'll definately be staying here again! (And again, and again... !)

NEVER AGAIN. Bed bugs, $10 Wi-Fi, Low Class.
By ,
STAY AWAY from this one. We had problems with everything from bed bugs to housekeeping throwing personal items away. My fiancé & I stayed at Pop for 1 week and I can assure you that we will never return to this hotel even if they were giving the rooms away. We stayed in a “Preferred” room which costs a little more, but it’s closer to the lobby, pool, and restaurant. This is a large resort, so if you choose not to heed my warning, at least pay the “Preferred” rate. Upon entering the room, I was surprised at how very small it was and the stains on the carpet. The bathroom was even smaller with only the tub and toilet; the sink is outside in the main living area with little counter space and no water pressure. The bathtub grout has darkened over time as a result of mildew buildup and small pieces of grout were missing altogether. There were tiny black bugs on the bathtub floor to welcome us every morning. The corners of the floor and at the base of the wall were filthy & clearly not cleaned in years. There is no refrigerator or microwave and if you want to access the internet, it’s $9.95/day. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. The plumbing is worse. You will know every time a neighbor flushes the toilet or takes a shower. Bring ear plugs. As for transportation to the parks, expect to wait in long lines for the crowded bus rides. We endured and, yes, although you spend a lot of time outside of the room, you eventually have to return and it would be nice to come back to a clean room without the fear of bed bugs. After being there for a couple of days, we found ourselves very itchy and developed red bumps on our arms and legs – bed bugs. Mosquito bites? Definitely not. My brother and his family were staying at the Ramada Celebration hotel and we met them everyday in the parks. They were perfectly fine. No itching or scratching or red bumps the entire time AND their room was only $28/night (and they had free Wi-Fi)! The kicker came the last night we were there. We returned to our room late at night to find it in disarray. The beds were made and the towels were refreshed, but our toiletries, which I always left neatly arranged in the shower and on the vanity, were all over the place sitting on the toilet tank or knocked over on the vanity and a cup that I had been saving on the vanity was missing as well as our guides and ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign. I walked down to the front desk & spoke with the manager who was very nice about the situation and had the head of Housekeeping call me to apologize. Interestingly enough, I later heard the woman in the next room outside talking to housekeeping about how all of her items had been put on the bathroom floor, on top of her suitcase and in disarray throughout the room. That, to me, is scary because you wonder what else the housekeeper was doing in your room when no one was watching. I would say to you to lock up your valuables in the in-room safe, but it’s a wall safe that is bout 2 inches deep – not fitting much in there. I recommend locking everything up in your suitcase before leaving the room. Considering my brother only spent $28/night for his room (through HotWire) and had a better experience than me, price isn’t always a determining factor in service. Pop Century is considered a budget Walt Disney World hotel and does attract a certain class of people. I couldn’t believe the number of parents sitting by the pool every day with several beer bottles on the table and ash trays all over the place. There are big planters filled with sand throughout the pool area for cigarette butts. Not a pretty site. There are kids everywhere, so if you don’t have kids, don’t smoke, don’t like being eaten alive at night, and prefer a higher level of service, class and cleanliness, DO NOT stay at Pop Century.

Less Impressed but still a good value
Good value for $100 per night, but somewhat bare bones. Small rooms, aging bathrooms. Overall,, rsort maintenance is good, but there are a couple of spots that really stank of garbage -- made walking to and from meals very unappetizing. Still, good for the money.

Great hotel, great vacation!
By ,
My husband and I just got back from Disney 2 days ago and we stayed at the Pop Century. After reading the online reviews we didnt know what to expect. We had a great vacation and would surely return in the future. It was very cute, great pools, Yes, It was busy but it's Disney World in July so what do you expect? The hotel was clean, the rooms were very nice and the staff was quite helpful. You could go to any park with a short bus ride right from the hotel. We never waited for a bus for more then 15 minutes. The Disney dining plan was fantastic and worked out perfect for us! If you are going there for the experience of Disney then this hotel is great.

We had a great time
By ,
We had a great time. The Cast members were very helpful. Room cleaned everyday. No long wait for the buses to the park. The food was good, but wish they had more options. Lifeguards very watchful. Get the refillable mugs great deal.

Preferred room only
By ,
If you do not have a perferred room. Be prepared to walk REAL far from your car to your room! Not enough room to eat in food court. In the morning all the people heading to the food court look like a ant colony going to find food! Other wise the place is great. Rooms are just as nice as the moderate rooms.

GOOD HOTEL!!
By ,
We loved it! The Pop Century was a good choice for cost. We spent most of our time in the parks so the hotel was perfect to crash. Bus/shuttle was available from and to the airport, to the parks and to Downtown Disney. Transportation made everything so convenient. Staying here was the way to go. We recommend this hotel for families....

Nice Hotel
By ,
My wife and I spent Christmas in Disney with my mother-in-law. The Pop Century was good choice for cost. We did not spent most of time in the parks so the hotel was perfect for a place to crash. I wouldn’t stay here if you are looking spend time at the resort.

Get a room away from the pool!
By ,
Our room was right by the main pools, and we were kept up half the night with the sounds of kids screaming and yelling. It was easy to walk to the main building, but I would have preferred a longer walk and less noise. The food was okay and easy to get, and the buses were generally quick and readily available. The thing that left the worst impression on us was when we ordered a pizza to the room after a long day. They told us it would be 80 minutes, which was understandable. I'm sure they are very busy. When the pizza still was not there 2 hours later, we cancelled it and headed to bed. 30 minutes later (around 11:30 pm), someone was knocking on our door. It was our pizza! We just told them to take it back and they took it off the bill. So - don't count on their pizza delivery service. Just walk over to the cafeteria and get it to go. The moral of the story - you get what you pay for. The "Disney Experience" is pretty diluted when you get to the Pop Century resort.
