Disney's Pop Century Resort, Lake Buena Vista

We were most stressed by the lack of coffee makers in the rooms! Most people like to wake up and right away have a cup of coffee. I've stayed in "budget" hotels before and even those at least had mini or two serving coffee makers. At Pop Century, in the mornings you need to get up and then hike over to the food court to fill your mug with watered down instant coffee from the dispensers. I saw several other bleary eyed guests stumbling around each morning looking for coffee. Also, if you are a true "early bird" the food court doesn't open until 6 a.m., so if you wanted to get an early start at say 5:30 and have coffee right away, you are out of luck. The food court does get a little loud and crazy at times, but that's to be expected. Other than that, the best parts of the resort are the large and kitschy decorations, such as the giant Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head and the Twister games, that are great for photo ops and kid friendly play attractions. The pools were cute and enjoyable too. The staff was mostly friendly. The rooms were mostly clean although we did not get soap and shampoo our first night in. Thankfully we brought our own.

Amazing setting, fells like traveling the past 100 years in one day, with the option of stayiong in your fav. decade, with giant yo-yo stair casses, and everywhere eather, a 50 ft. Big Wheel, A hudge lady, and tramp, and hudge boom boxes, including 3 whole pools, super cool, feels like your in a giant memories of movies, music, toys, and Games, super fun and amazing, disney must!!!!!!!!!!!!

we loved this place, rooms were spotless and beds comfy, 3 pools that was open 24/7 the food wasnt great, but that was the only downfall the buses ran every 5mins and until late too the location was good, not too far from that parks we will be definetely going back when wqe visit florida again

We just got back from a 5day 4 night and stayed at Disney's Pop Century Resort. The resort looks great from the out side but once you check in.... The room is like motel 6. The beds are hard and small. If you plan to treavel dont take the bus. becuase pop century buses are always running behind and are the farest to walk to. We got the dinning plan and only used that resort for snacks. we planed all are meals at other resorts. There are better places to stay then this. I was in the 50's and the room sucked and we were so tried and could not get any rest or sleep do to the thine walls. My 10yr old did not like pop century. It was not what we thought. No bell hop to help you like the other resorts. you are droped at the door! Remember when other are passing you by at the bus station its because you get what you pay for.

We've been to Pop Century at least 7 times. Security can be misleading in there really isn't any. No cameras on property. Our car was carved up with a knife last week. Reported it to the front desk and it took 20 minutes for security to arrive (right in the middle of the day). Luis, the guard, just put his hands up and said "not their responsibility". Ultimately they really don't care. There is probably nothing they could have done, but it made me realize they have no real security on property.

Stayed here a couple of times now and loved it each time. Its the best of the value resorts since it has its own shuttle. I have stayed at some of the moderate resorts, but there isnt a whole lot more, so if you want to save some money - this is the place.

I have gone about 3 times with my family and it is great. the price , the food, the entertainment and the pools are outstanding. i go every once in a while when i think i should go because i like trying different locations but it is truly amazing. I'm probably gonna go in the summer but in February im gonna try All Star Movies resort. This hotel inspires disney and i recommend it for ages 1 day - 199 years. The cost was very reasnoable and understandable. If your'e gonna go to Disney you should defenetily try it , for sure. (p.s. the date i put for my visit was the last time i went)

I have been coming to this resort for 5 years. My first visit was in 1/04 when it was about a month old and was blown away by the style! I have returned every year since then and, yes, there is some wear and tear, but it is still the best value and service I have had at any vacation I've ever been on! The rooms are only small if you are used to staying in expensive, expansive hotels. I don't spend much time in the room anyway, but when I do it's definately comfortable! And as for the noise outside, I LOVE IT ! All the kids having a ball in the pools and the music and laughter is why I go there! I If you want a quiet vacation or a quiet resort, Pop Century is not for you. But, then, why did you come to Disney in the first place? If it's possible for you, I'd get the dining plan included in your package! The food is OUTSTANDING! It can add up, though, so careful there. Alcohal is expensive, also, but that's the way it is everywhere anyway! Plus, the variety of drinks is staggering! I've never seen so many concoctions, some with electronically lighted ice cubes! It is a feast for all senses! I took a friend with me last year and she said just looking at the resort makes her happy! I will be visiting again in 11/09 and I can't wait! It's become my home away from home and I am sooo happy to be going back!

I honestly cannot understand why some people don't like the resort. It is a bit small, but very affordable, so if you need another room it won't leave a dent in your wallet. The food is exceptionally great (especially the Pop waffles!) and the pools are clean and very creative. One is a bowling pin, one a hippie flower, and one a computer. This resort is amazing, and anyone who complains about it obviously doesn't know a good hotel when they see one.

After reading some of the reviews on this resort we really weren't sure what to expect when we got to the Pop Century. I have to say we were surprised. Everyone was wonderful at the resort and we truly never had a problem with anything in our rooms. We knew that we wouldn't get the top of the line disney hotel experience because we weren't paying for it. We really just wanted a place for the kids to crash when we got back to the resort. The only thing that we can say negative was that we wished there were a few more food options. It was crowded but that is Disney and you are going to get that at any of the resorts. We never had to stand in line for over 15 min. waiting for a bus. We've had to stand in line much longer before by staying at a few of the other resorts. This hotel is a wonderful choice for a family on a budget. We loved it. The kids loved it. If you are looking for the more adult side of Disney this just may not be the resort for you. :-)
