First, the hotel is cool and chic, the bar is hip and the restaurant, MiLa is fantastic! Make a reservation for MiLa if you're planning on eating Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights. It is award-winning and it is a new local favorite. The food is eclectic and smooth. The rooms are nice, a little small, but just perfect for a few nights! The location is great, and the neighborhood is coming back to life (slowly) and there are condos, businesses and the hotel next to it is reopening in a few months. There is a little bit of construction around the hotel from the surrounding renovation (condos, shops, etc, not the hotel). The staff is friendly and helpful. I was always greeted with a smile when walking around the hotel. Will definitely be back and recommend you stay!

We stayed at this hotel for the VooDoo Music experience. I chose this hotel because they offered military/Gov. rates during the weekend and during this special event, which doesn't happen very often. Also, they were able to guarantee a double room, which we needed as there were to be four guests. The whole experience was very pleasant, and I actually looked forward to going to the hotel for the peace and quiet. The place had a very calming effect on me. The room was nice and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the 3rd floor pool, and the work out area which has a washer and dryer, a private bath with a shower, and fresh fruit was offered. The parking attendants were very friendly, as well. I would stay here again in a heart beat. It was really a nice place to go to after a very busy/hectic day to unwind and feel a little pampered.

first time down in new orleans and would definitely go back to this hotel. it was very clean and very well kept. room's were a bit on the small size, but definitely okay. rooms and not to mention the beautiful lobby are decorated so well. bar in the lobby and restauarant attached to the hotel. the pool was great too. walking distance to everything! two blocks from bourbon & canal streets. valet parking! overall, had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.

When some friends of ours decided to attend a recent music festival in New Orleans, we decided on this hotel. I have to admit that I was looking forward to staying at one of Mariott's flagship hotels. We did enjoy our stay, but it was lacking in some areas which give it a "less than optimal" review in my opinion. Check in went smooth as silk. In fact the staff was able to let us check into a king room when we first arrived around 10:00 a.m. The staff was courtious and professional, and the room was neat and well kept. This gave me the feeling that I was staying in a four star hotel. The Bell staff was always cheerful and attentive. It seemed that we were going to be looked after in true style, but that's where the illusion started to fade. Concierge service was spotty at best, and even though I did get reservations, the staff was only at their desk for what seemed to be two to three hours all weekend. We had a full day, and decided to check in for the evening early one night. At 10:00 p.m. on Saturday night I repeatedly tried to reach room service to place an order with no answer. It would seem that prime time on Saturday night would have someone on staff to take an order. The hotel restaurant seemed to have new staff that were inexperienced. When we got up to have the breakfast buffet one morning, the hostess sat another couple at our table. Remember, this is the same hostess that sat us down at that table to start. Bar service was spotty as well, since several key employees "didn't show up for work". However, when we did have real service, the barkeep was top notch (with great stories and all". In all it was a great experience, but not the experience you would be expecting in a top of the line luxury hotel.

The location was perfect and the staff went out of their way to assist us with information on ski packages, tours and shopping. The service was great! The complimentary breakfast was a real treat and a money saver. We met other guests from all over the United States and enjoyed visiting with them.

Avoid the sychophantic bellman. He blew kisses at me, kept calling me "lovely, beautiful queen" - "jewel" and any number of other odd names. He never once carried our bags, summoned our car from parking, or did anything helpful. He just made self-serving, fawning comments. He was very, very annoying. I saw him do the same to several other women. At the end of our stay (as we carried our own luggage toward valet parking)he actually grabbed me by the hand and asked for a tip, proposing $8 for him for each day of our stay! Believe it or not, he was not as as creepy as the other one who offered to "keep an eye on" my teenage girls (who were staying in a separte room on another floor). Clean hotel - In the middle of remodeling the ground floor (as are many hotels in New Orleans). Convenient location. Scarry, creepy staff. We won't be back.

I went to Jazz Fest and was so incredibly happy at this hotel. Yes, there are still some problems associated with Hurricane Katrina i.e. no room service or on-site restaurant/bar or mini bar in room and sketchy wi-fi but they go 1000% out of their way to accomodate you as best they can. The staff is so nice and pleasant it was definintely a highlight. The room was gorgeous and modern and felt like my home. I will not hesitate to stay there again.

this place is great. Stayed there with my boyfriend, daughter her boyfriend and grandchildren. We had a great time the kids went to the pool and we went to the gym. I love this place and will stay there again we live in metairie and just wanted to stay the weekend to see our city we also took the streetcar to go out eating everything is very close to the hotel the staff is excellent if you need a nice place to stay this is it like we say in new orleans y'all come back

This was our first and definitely not our last trip to New Orleans. This hotel is within walking distance of the French Quarter, the Riverwalk, and the casino. The room was not huge, but was incredibly clean, the bed had the whitest sheets I have ever seen. Th A/C was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel.
