Holiday Inn Valencia, Valencia

Check-in for our group of 95 was slow and tedious, the worst of any hotel we stayed at during our ten-day tour. You must go up a staircase with your luggage to reach the lobby. The rooms were hot and the A/C worked poorly. Even at the maximum setting, the room never cooled to a comfortable level--everyone in the group had the same complaint. Breakfast was okay, but laid out poorly in a tight area. This hotel might be okay in cooler seasons, but I would avoid it during the summer.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city.! Bus to downtown right across the street and you can buy cheaper multitrip tickets. It is within walking distance of the Arts & Sciences Museums, however be prepared for a long walk to the Aquarium. The beds were the most comfortable in any hotel we stayed in Spain. Staff were helpful and friendly and gladly gave us extra towels etc. We found the restaurant a bit expensive so had breakfast and lunch(if we were around there) on the outdoor cafe. The air conditioning was individually controlled and actually worked in early May.

The hotel is modern and had no problems with the hotel itself or its location but we did have a few...hiccups. food tasted nice but always arrived luke warm. I am vegetarian and all ther sandwiches had meat in them and the chef refused to make one up without meat...a little rediculous for a 4* hotel. Our first foom had 1 tiny window with a view if the opposite building that is right next to it so we asked to be changed and got a much nicer room size and window with a better view. We stayed there for 1 week on a leiaure holiday and found it the perfect location. the bus stop outside has the #19 bus which brings you right to the city centre in 10 mins or the port and beach in the opposite direcion in 10 mins. also located 10 min walk to city of arts and sciences, aquariam, brill shopping centre called aqua. Some of the staff were excellent and very helpful but most of them were rude and we seemed to feel like an inconvenience to the days work..as if we were in a hotel or something!! One of the main reasons we chose this hotel because it had a rooftop pool which is tiny but does the job for a quick dip to cool off. 3 of the 7 days we were there the pool was closed due to "bad weather" even though it was 30 degrees and no wind at all and when we questioned it we we told its because it might rain... it never did!! All in all its a good hotel and great mid location to everything but was not a 4 star quality hotel as it advertises itself. Maybe we were just unlucky but would not go back to this particular hotel again but worth taking the chance if you are getting it for a cheap enough rate. we paid €80 per night for a triple room so that was brill. Breakfast is amazing and if you need anything ask for Denis or Salvadore as these were the most helpfull staff. My advice would be to stay at the neptune hotel right on the beach and beside the port.. had a sneaky peek around and it looks amazing and not expensive either. its about 20 mins bus to city centre.
