Harrahs Ak Chin Casino Resort, Maricopa

For the most part our stay was enjoyable, HOWEVER, after staying and gambling all night on June 11th, our plan was to check out of our room, put our bags in our car, hit the pool for a couple of hours, have lunch, GAMBLE, and drive home. As we were relaxing poolside at 10:15a.m. (45 mins before checkout), my wife and I were accosted (no exaggeration) by their Bill Murray from 'Caddyshack' look-alike 'Pool Nazi.' He was, I guess, cleaning up the pool, and we saw him aggressively speaking to other patrons. When our turn came, he abruptly interrupted the conversation my wife and I were having, and interrogated us as to when our check out date was. We told him that we were to check out at 11a.m., and he told us that we were "not allowed in the pool area after checkout!" AND that "You must be by the front doors at 11!" We informed him that it was 1) not yet 11a.m. 2) that we were planning on staying for lunch and gambling, and 3) that he could get on his whiz bang radio and get his supervisor to explain to us this RULE that we were not informed of upon checking in. He skulked away, and no supervisor showed up. He attempted this with at least one other couple who had their post check out luggage with them as well. It, in hindsight, was probably not a big deal, but we could have chosen to stay in Tucson at the J.W. Marriott for the same price (summer special rate), but chose to expand our horizons and give other resorts in the area a chance. We left, drove home, and gambled that afternoon at the Desert Diamond Casino where we will 'stay and play' the next time we plan a quick weekend getaway.

With some hesitation I offered to drive from out home to Harrahs Ak Chin Casino. Every aspect of visit to the casino resulted in a positive experience. The casino was busy but not crowded. Slot machines were available at every level and type. We also took agdantage of the Buttet dining discount for Total Rewards members. The Buffet was clean, not crowded, and seemed to have the right amount of food for the crowd. Everything looked delicious and the items I was able to try (small servings but abundant choices) were first class. I would not hesitate to return in the future. Oh, bye the way we left as overall winners which helps with the favorable review.

Seriously, I am very sorry to hear about your loss. But how exactly would they know that was her car? Did you tell them that, "oh, by the way - I am the daughter of ___ who just died here in your hotel, and wanted to let you know I would be moving her car on ____." If not, do you think they should just let ppl leave their car there forever? They have to do this - they are a very busy place. Again, I am sorry to hear about your loss - but this is a terrific hotel/casino and the managers are wonderful people as well. Did you speak to one about this? I have nothing but praise for this wonderful establishment.

Today I had an unbelievable experience that I thought I would write a review on so that everyone would be aware....my mother was staying at the hotel and casino when god decided to call her home she had parked her car with the vallet and perceded to her room where she passed away because she did not come pick up her car in a timly fassion the vallet and casino towed her car and we were responsible to pay $250 to get it back from the tow company I am outraged and will never go to this establishment again for any reason it is not like she was drunk or gambeling the night away being irresponsible and forget she was lying dead in her room....just thought i would share this bs experience with all you who are planning to go there there are many other great establishments in arizona you could go.

all the lights and bells and the young ladies that bring the drinks and how much they appreceiate the tips -- they are doing a service and they should be tiped - they are always smiling and will talk to you if you like -- i just wanted to add that that because i see people give no tip and no thank you when my husband and i went to our room - very - clean - food very -= good and I WON _ I WWAs thilled -- i also lost and took mone home -- From Patti Scott Harrah For AK-Chin Casino Resort -- I know i cannon go to much because money is short -- and you have to stay in reality-- Thanks to all the nice people at Harrah's Phoenix Ak-Chin Casino Resort

I loved it all. Except maybe for the pizza at the grill it was super. EVERYONE was friendly, Mr. Cardenas was above and beyond. Keith, our driver, was right there when needed. The food might be a little pricy, but very good. They could not have made us more welcome. The rooms were very confortable and roomy. We didn't have to wait for a casino person when we pushed our slot button. The golf course they recommended was beautiful. The bus trip to the game was handled to the last detail which included one of the Harrah's assistants, Dee, stopping and getting me some Dr Pepper's. Love her for that. Best of all, was our host, Russ Toney, he is always at your finger tips for anything you need. Honestly, I go on a lot of trips but this hotel and casino surpasses them all. Thanks to all of you.

We live in phx. approximately 30-45 mins. from most of the area casinos.We have visited all of them since they opened and go 2-3 times a week.The problem with Harrahs is they send out so many offers that they attract a LOT of low limit players who clog up the casino and if they get a coupon they clog up the restaurants also. We go there with or without COUPONS or OFFERS of a few bucks, so check their calander of events to AVOID the FREE LOADERS...............

On 2-21-08 we had a reservation and received a great room. The whole hotel and casino employees where just great and took care of us very well and the room on the second floor over looking the pool was just super. My disappointment was that I wanted to treat the wife to a good meal being this was our last night on the road of a three week trip so I decided to take her to the Range Steakhouse for dinner and that was my biggest mistake. We ordered a shrimp cocktail, some onion soup, halibut for the wife and pork chops for me.Well the shrimp was cold like it should be, the soup was luke warm and our meal was cold and so over done you could use the chops for shoe leather.Never have the wife and I had such a lousy meal, and the waiter (Scott)does not need to be waiting tables he was just plain no good, had to ask him three times where our supper was. The assistant manager took the price of the chops off of the bill but that didn't satisfy the lousy food and service. Will I ever eat at the RANGE STAKEHOUSE again ? heck NO, will I go back to the hotel ? heck YES. WHAT EVER YOU DO WHEN STAYING AT THE AK-CHIN CASINO IS NOT TO EAT AT THE RANGE STEAKHOUSE, save your money and go to McDonalds or BurgerKing and buy a burger.

Bumped with a reservation for a 7 star Reward member . They had 4 waiting till midnight with 7 stars ... that will bump diamond. Why have a reservation????? Do not trust this place. Worst Harrah's site ever.

We used to stay here every so often when we lived in Phoenix so when our trip home for a wedding came up we decided to revisit it. As always it was a very nice place. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is the same as I remember it but the town of Maricopa has grown by leaps and bounds since the last time we were there. There are lots of local places to eat and shop now so you don't feel so isolated and you don't have to drive 20 miles to the nearest town.
