Great Place to Stay!
I have stayed at this hotel approximately 22 nights over the last couple of months. Some of those nights have been over the weekends.
Regarding what the previous poster said about the wedding group... I can understand how this could happen at any hotel. I honestly just think it was a fluke experience because I have nothing but positive things to say about the hotel and their staff.
The continental breakfast at a Holiday Inn Express is far better than any other limited service chain. They always have eggs(both scrambled or mini omelets & hard boiled), breakfast meats, biscuits and gravy, and hot cinnimon roles (they are great, but you learn to limit your consumption after a while or they will catch up with you!) in addition to the standard cold items (yogurts, breads/bagels, cereal, etc.) I love the fact that they offer fresh coffee 24 hours per day and also fresh baked cookies each evening.
I have stayed at several other neigboring hotels over the last year and after discovering this one, I have no intention of ever staying elsewhere. In fact, certain weeks I have to commute to downtown and the MOA area where there are numerous other Holiday Inn/Holiday Inn Express options, however I keep coming back to Vadnais Heights because I like it so much.
The hotel is new, all non-smoking, very clean ,very trendy decor and very, very comfortable beds.
What sells this location to me is the proximity to the local mall, numerous dining options and the attached restaurant/sports bar. I get the full-service experience without the full service price and and I get to enjoy a brand new hotel with much larger rooms that most of the expensive full-service hotels. (I have found a lot of the full-service hotels to be more worn out and old feeling).
I would recommend it to any business travelor, family/sport group, etc.
