Smoker's Beware!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/1/10
I'm 62 years old and unfortunately a "Smoker"..we were given a non-smoking room which I was a bit hesitant about but accepted it anyway..we booked a 5 night stay there for the Thanksgiving Holidays..on the third night of our stay I was awoken by noises out in the hall at 2am in the morning, after investigating and now awake I broke the rules, omg I lit a cigarette and smoked it as it was 20 degrees outside and did not want to venture out..around 2:15 am there was a loud "aggressive" knock on our door..I went to the door and peered thru the "peephole" and seen a woman standing in front of my door..I asked "what do you want"?..the woman replied "I am Lee Ann, the night manager, I smell smoke coming from this room and I want to come in right now"!, I replied "absolutely not, I don't know who are, go away"..at 2:30 am the room phone rang and this Lee Ann gal informed me we were ejected from the premises and had 15 minutes to gather our belongings and vacate the premises!!..now this is at 2:30 am in the morning mind you..yes I broke the rules..but this could have been handled alot differently considering the time and the freezing weather outside..Later in the day I talked to the General Manager "Rebbeca" and she did offer us a "Smoking room" and aknowledged the situation was handled very poorly..just beware of the night manager "Lee Ann"..she was actually laughing at us as we ventured out into the freezing weather at 2:45 in the morning.
