Conrad is Simply the Best!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/07
My husband and I stayed here one night and it exceeded all of our expectations! We were able to check in early and were upgraded to a King room without even asking. The room was luxurious and I've never slept in a more comfortable bed! I even took the pillow cases off to see what brand they were so I could buy some when I got home (but no tags). The huge plasma t.v. was very nice, as was the extremely roomy bathroom with it's deep tub and seperate glass enclosed shower. The complimentary slippers and use of robes were a very nice touch. We even used the umbrella (it rained our whole stay!). The staff was more than friendly and the housekeepers were always greeting us in the hallways and smiling, and the concierge was always eager to help. We don't usually spend this much on a hotel room, but it was well worth it! I highly recommend this hotel!

Love love love this Conrad!
By C.A, 7/5/06
We've stayed here 7x in the past 2 years. This hotel is in the perfect location for MagMile shopping and great restaurants. What could be better than having Nordstrom just an elevator away! Very quiet even if your room is on Michigan Ave and the staff is lovely; very attentive and helpful. Terrific concierge too! Depending on the time of year the price can be dear, but again, well worth it. None of the craziness normally found in hotels its size either. You WILL love the Conrad (especially now that you get get HHonors points since it turned over from Le Meridien!)OOPS, room service is pricey and they've taken out the coffeemaker from the guest rooms :(, other than that there is NO other place we'd stay in Chicago. ALSO, it's just up the street from Enterprise RAC, so you can grab a rental and go to IKEA in Schaumburg!

We absolutely loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/3/06
My husband had stayed there for business, and I joined him for a weekend visit. The staff were wonderful. The concierge staff helped us with numerous requests including printing out our boarding passes. I highly recommend this hotel.

Will not go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/06
Ok this is my first Conrad type stay and I am not impressed. The breakfast buffet is not good. The rooms are OK but I have had better as a Diamond at other main stay Hilton's. Now the location can't be beat but is it worth $200.00+tax a night NO! I have to stay if this is what Conrad's are all about I will never stay in one again.

For the business traveler!
By j, 6/24/06
BEFORE YOU RESERVE A ROOM... I used to work for Hilton Reservations Worldwide in a town called Streator, IL. Back then we toured this hotel as it was called "Double Tree Chicago Downtown Lake Front" a hotel I booked a few hundred rooms for. In the Hilton family of brands, Double Tree is intended for the business traveler, as evident from the opinion of the review before mine. The rates for these rooms used to be much cheaper then what they are now charging with the new trumped up "Conrad" name on the front of the building. The "Conrad" part of the Hilton family, is supposed to be Hilton's high end brand, next to Waldorf. On seeing this hotel after its "change", it does not seem like much has changed besides the staff's noses have gone higher, as well as the price. For a hotel chain that owns so many great properties, they badly failed in trying to turn their second lamest property in downtown Chicago, into a classy, high-priced hotel.

Sparkling gem near Mag Mile
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/26/05
Le Meridien has an elegant flower-filled lobby, a clubby bar and an outdoor terrace. One cannot find a more chic location from which to plan a shopping excursion at the Nordstrom mall via interior walkway, or a walk to River North eating and Magnificent Mile shopping. The shuttle to Navy Pier is just across the street. We brought our children, and they loved the hotel, too. Rooms are spacious, cleanlined and chic. The staff greets one graciously. Bathrooms are in marble, with thick towels and robes. While this is a premium-priced hotel, staying there was dreamy. We want to stay here again and again when in downtown Chicago!

excellent location, excellent hotel
By Nichole, 9/18/05
Le Meridien is located in the middle of the mag. mile on Michigan ave in Chicago. Location alone makes it worth the trip! We had a suite and it was fantastic! Service is excellent as well as the food. We really enjoyed the bar during happy hour. The only negative: finding the parking lot is very tricky (sublevel).

Service with a smile??
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/18/05
The best thing about this hotel was the location. It was very convenient to the shopping area of Chicago. The room was small, but comfortable, and very clean. The only thing that was lacking was the customer service. There was never anyone at the concierge desk, and the people at the front desk were somewhat rude and uninterested in helping some newcomers with info about the city. It would be a great place for business travelers who are there for a short time.
