Debit Card Disaster!
By Alexa, 10/29/08
Used my debit card to pay for the $174.00 room for one night. I noticed a few days that they had charged that amount twice to my room. The manager kept making excuses that it was my banks fault, not theirs. They refused to do anything. My bank finally took the hold off 15 days later. Aside from that, the room was small and not worth the price. Our room was beside a noisy ice maker which was ridiculously loud all night long. I will never stay here again. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pricey but decent enough
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/07
The staff was pleasant, the place is clean. Small rooms for the price, the pool is a joke, overall the prices are ridiculous for what you are getting. Next to Denny's was not necessarily a bonus, shadey people around.

Very Nice Place To Stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/07
The Hampton Inn is a very clean place to stay. I have stayed in other places closer to the boardwalk, even though they are cheaper to stay at you have to take into consideration they will be noisey and smelly. So if you like clean and tidy with air conditioning and a nice breakfast in the morning the Hampton Inn is the place to stay.

Too expensive for what you get
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/06
The hotel rooms are extremely small, they kind of go with the oversized bath tub they call a pool, seriously if there were more than 4 or 5 people in this thing you would have to be touching someone else. We called a couple months in advance and booked the room, we made sure to let them know that we needed a room with 2 double beds rather than 1 king because we would have people staying with us. When we arrived we found out that we had in fact gotten 1 king room and they could not move us because the hotel was completely full, and just told us sorry for the inconvience. 2 people slept on the floor for 2 nights because the room was too small to even fit a rollaway bed in. Absolutely ridiculous.

DON'T USE A DEBIT CARD
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/09/05
I used my debit card for a 126.50 transaction. Without being told my card was held 335.40. There was 3 different transactions put on "hold" on my account. $145.40, $140 and $50 (Not my totally of 126.50???) I had to talk to the hotel manager 4 times with no results, I finally had to call the corporate office myself to get my money back into my account. I had no idea this amount of money was going to be take from my account, so I proceeded to use my card, come to find out I had overdrawn from my account. When I spoke with the main office, the lady said, "well sometimes we don't know its a debit card so we put "hold" to make sure the funds are there". That doesn't make any sense to me. It caused me a lot of problems with my bank. 335.40 is much different then 126.50. I should have been told!! I think its poor business to do that, money may not mean much to them, but that big of a difference does to me. Other then that problem. The hotel was nice. I might stay there again, but make sure I let them know this was a debit card, and ask about the "holding of funds"
