Beware!!

Recently stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico this past weekend 12/3-12/6 (was supposed to stay until the 7th but we requested to be transferred to another hotel) and we had items stolen out of our room 2 times during our stay. We were on the ground level with a grassy backyard before a hedge and fence. The front desk staff was not helpful whatsoever until my friend (who was celebrating her 30th birthday) and I had to spend over 2 hours in the lobby arguing with the front desk staff and even a manager!!! There was also another couple at the front desk who had stuff stolen out of their room while they were at dinner. I was not allowed to have a copy of any of the 3 security reports I had filed and was told if I wanted a report I had to go into town and file one at the police station. The staff was rude and uncaring, we had only been out of our room for an hour and a half by the pool on Sat. morning only to return to our room (beds made) and a $600+ camera missing, earlier in the week my purse, IPod and a phone had also been taken. Its a shame that this had to happen on what was supposed to be such a celebratory weekend for my friend's birthday and another friends wedding,at the Riu Palace Riveria Maya, which was were we were transferred to and treated much better.
