We Shall Return!! (we'll be back!)
My husband and I stayed at the Bothwell the end of July 2007. We were very impressed with the authentic restoration of this historic hotel. The 2-story high lobby was beautiful! Our room, though small, was very clean and comfortable (we felt as if we were stepping back in time). We visited with several staff members and found them to be enthusiast, helpful and very informative regarding the history of the hotel. They even allowed us to look at several unoccupied rooms in the hotel, so that we could see the different room layouts, styles, sizes, etc. During our stay, we enjoyed the continental breakfast, which did include a Belgian waffle maker (do it yourself), which turned out delicious waffles, I might add!
Three months earlier, we stayed at the Hotel Savoy in Kansas City, MO. It cannot begin to compare to the Bothwell. What a study in contrast (however, the breakfast at the Savoy was superb!). We will most definitely visit the beautiful Hotel Bothwell in Sedalia, MO again, hopefully soon!
