Stay in Junction City if you can
This property is owned by a California corporation who obviously has no idea what is going on in Manhattan, KS. It is a very unprofessionally run operation.
I stayed at the property for one night, June 8, 2006 as part of a group in Manhattan for an AAU track meet. We had reservations for two nights. My daughter chose not to run in her Saturday event after having qualified for district on Friday. Therefore, I returned to the motel to check out before the 11:00 deadline. When I went to the front desk to turn in my key no one was at the desk. There were no instructions to ring the bell. The person from the housekeeping staff watching the desk from the breakfast room told me to leave my key on the desk and I would be checked out.
Instead of doing the right thing and checking me out, the front office manager chose to take advantage of the fact that she had a signed reservation card and my Visa number and billed me for Friday night. This property will take advantage of their guests when they know that the public has no appropriate means of recourse to contest the charges. You cannot trust these people. I didn't attempt to skip out on my bill for Thursday. I just don't want to be billed for staying in a room I did not.
The motel is very shodily built as well. There was crab grass growing through the exterior wall of my room. The railroad tracks are less than 40 feet from the back side of the motel. Like I said in the title, stay at one of the better motels in Junction City if you can. Manhattan is full of cheap dumps.
