Facelift recently cannot cover up shotty construction

This hotel must have been built around the Y2K building frenzy when everybody wanted to build a hotel and very cheap materials were being used to get the job done quickly. You can tell that they have tried to put a facelift on the place but the building still feels cheap. For example: My door would not shut all the way. I called down to the desk, but, ahhh, maintenance is gone for the day. You think maintenance would have noticed or at least housekeeping that you did not need a key to open the door. Luckily I have played some rugby in my day and I was able to shoulder it shut, but you best believe I only wanted to do it once. Problem was I was there for three days and could not get moved cause the hotel was sold out. In order to guarantee that no one would steal my stuff is to take it with me. Of course maintenance could not fix the door anyway because the part is discontinued and thy need a whole new lock. How about a new building while you're at it? Will not stay here again.
