Not what it used to be
Restaurant service is fair to decent. We like to go there prior to perfermances at the BSO. Time before last, we could not get waited on. Took forever to get a drink and even longer to order. A waitperson, who was not assigned our table, finally felt sorry for us and came to us. Thank goodness she did because we barely made the performance afterwards. Food, though generally good, is not as good as before new management took over. Avoid deserts - small for the price and just not good. I've had two in the last month. The breadpudding during the last visit was so dry it was like eating store bought stuffing cubes and had about as much flavor. Bread served with the meal is a hunk of ok bread, but the foccacia that used to be served was excellent. They've cheapened up the food, but not the prices. And, if you plan on going there during the Christmas holidays prior to visiting the Meyerhoff across the street, don't expect decorations to put you in the mood for the season. There were a few lights strung on the entry steps, but inside was a left over pumpkin from fall decorations. And the music was horrendous - "the chef does not like Christmas music" we were told. Apparently she does not like any music given what was being played the last time we were there (which indeed may be the last time we go there).
