Super 8 Erie, Erie

For the last 5 years I have had very good experiences at Super 8 Motels. This Motel is definitely the exception. While its location is certainly an advantage, easy on and off the highway, that is its only quality. The cleanliness is certainly lacking. General up keep in the motel has deteriorated something terrible. Something was leaking on our floor because the carpets in the hall were soaking wet, and it wasn't raining. At breakfast, we watched as one of the employees put a new container of milk in the milk dispenser, he went from cleaning the floor to handling the milk and other food without ever washing his hands. Several times he wiped his sweaty brow with his hand then handled food. Housekeeping after cleaning our room, and I am generous in the use of that verb, left our door propped open. When we came back to our room, the door was propped open for who knows how long? We were just very lucky no one robbed us. My family and I have stayed at many Super 8's - after this experience, the chain is off our list. We will not risk "the great price" to buy an accident or pick up a disease from the general lack of cleanliness.
