Great view of Elizabeth River, dry docks and Norfolk waterfront

The location of this hotel is great if you do not need to travel back and forth to Norfolk (the tunnel can be quite slow during rush hours).
The entrance to the hotel is a long way from the lobby and then to get to the rooms, another long walk through the main lobby to get to the elevators. Can be troublesome with luggage. Also, the parking garage is a hassle as it is not part of the hotel and a room key is needed when exiting and entering each time so it can track hotel parking, plus there is a daily charge for parking.
The room was very nice, had a great view. Housekeeping staff seemed very slow and most could not speak English so communication was difficult if not impossible. We stayed over a week and sometimes waited as late as 3:00 p.m. to have the room cleaned.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Concierge level staff were especially friendly and made the stay delightful. Food was just average, nothing special.
We will stay here again in the future because the price is right for the quality of hotel.
