Wow
By Kamini, 2/4/06
I loved the location, the friendly staff, the jacuzzi overlooking the city, the interior decoration. There isa great thai food place called Dusita nearby, the resturant downstairs makes the best sandwiches in the world and there isnt a type of food that you can not find nearby. The rooms are comfortable, and stylish and you cant possibly ask for more.

Fine for a business trip
By FOX SPORTS picks, 12/15/05
I've had stayed here 10 times on business and while this place is fine for business, I would never choose this place using my own money: What I disliked: The service and the attitude at this hotel has been declining remarkably since 2003 The front desk issued me a smoking room when I had reserved a non smoking room. Without notifying me during check in. Housekeeping is below par for other hotels in this price range. Finding parking can be difficult. What I liked: Their leopard robes are amusing and warm. For business travelers, this hotel is very close to Apple. A Target is nearby for buying forgotten toiletries. Free Internet access (when it is working--over 2 of 10 stays it has been out of service). The king size beds are thickly padded with quality sheets. As good as a Westin Bed. If you need a fitness center, the Cypress Hotel's has a better offering than the nearby Courtyard or Hilton Garden Inn. Nicely furnished lobby area. Hints: Call for a shuttle to SJC at least 35 minutes in advance. Parking in the garage can be intimidating, but if it's crowded, go down, not up to find spaces. If you want mediocre BBQ at a discount, Armadillo Willy's offered a discount to hotel guests. They set the AC at very cold temperatures, just as an FYI.

WOW-What luxury!
The Cypress Hotel is in the dictionary next to Luxury Hotel. It epitomizes what a luxury hotel is. The rooms were lush, with thematic elements. They offered wireless internet connection for in-room laptop use, and they had desktop computers available right off the lobby so guests could stay connected during their stay. Each night from 5-6pm they had wine in the lobby, along with a masseuse. What a way to wind down at the end of a day!! The hotel was immaculate. I have nothing negative to say about my 5 nights at the Cypress Hotel!

I LOVE this Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/8/05
I have stayed here on business many times and would never stay anywhere else. It is gorgeous inside the Hotel and the rooms. I feel, as a single woman traveling alone, ver safe. The staff is excellent. There is a covered, secure garage, too. A nice and, delicious restaurant with full bar in the Hotel, too! The location is near many restaurants, banks, etc. Starbucks is across the street. The first Saturday of every month is a fabulous flea market at the local college, about three blocks away, it can't be missed. And I don't really care for flea markets, but this one is so much fun and has hundreds of sellers. If you are thinking about a place in this area, you can't go wrong with this Hotel!

Hidden Gem in Silicon Valley
By dzakur, 9/2/04
I stayed at the Cypress Hotel about 2 years ago, and it was by accident. On my first visit to the area, I had miscalculated the daily travel distance (with traffic) between Redwood City and Cupertino. Once here, I found and checked into the Cypress and I didn't want to check out.

The Cypress is part of the Kimpton Hotels chain, and is one of their newest hotels in the area.

The Cypress definately has an 'urban artsy' feel to it, but in a very good way. Check out the website for pics, cause I won't do it justice.

All Kimpton hotels, and especially the Cypress, take your comfort into mind. The beds are the most comfortable that I've ever slept in at a hotel, they have Aveda bath products, the food was fantastic (although I think that the restaurant changed since I stayed), and there is even a complimentary wine tasting every eveing!

This hotel is highly recommended in my book.

Great place with a unique personality
By Matt, 9/1/04
This "boutique" hotel has flavor and style that you typically don't find in hotels of similar size. Attention to detail is given through complimentary newspapers, a nice business center, and a truly unique atmosphere. I found the service to be exceptional as well. Highly recommended.

Great Escape from the sterile Silicon Valley
By snufericious, 9/1/04
I live in San Jose but needed to get away from it all and checked into the nearby Cypress Hotel. Wow. I was impressed. The place is immaculately clean and very very tastefully decorated. The room was spacious and the bed was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. I just couldnt leave the bed!!! There was alot of detailing in the room such as leopard print pillows, cheetah throws, and big fluffy bathrobes that gave Cypress Hotel a very edgy feel to it. I realy like how they captalized on their loud brash themes throughout the hotel and even the conference center had an energy around it. Like most boutique hotels, they offered wine tasting in the late afternoon which was a treat. The lounge area was very well decorated and it was a good place to unwind. Parking is free in the covered garage which was a definite plus. They had advertised on their site about a pool, which I was looking forward to lounging by. I couldn't find any pictures on the pool on their website so I wasnt expecting much. i was however very upset to find out that the pool was actually located OFF-site. They shared the pool with a local community and it was a good 8 minute hike to the pool, and accompanied by Cypress staff who would unlock the door for you. very UNcool. If you do not care for a pool, this place is for you. otherwise Valencia Hotel 10 mins away from Cypress offers a spectacular pool.
