Go somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!
By Mali, 9/15/10
First of all when we booked this hotel through the AAA website, it was said to be a Holiday Inn. When we got to Cuba, there was no Holiday Inn. This was the hotel in its place. We contacted AAA and they contacted the hotel. They said the hotel was bought out by Motel 6 and they were never informed of this. We tried to find another Holiday Inn anywhere close but there was nothing. Since we had already paid for the room we decided to stay. The girl at the front counter acted as though we were bothering her. The room smelled musty, with the air on it started to get better but did not totally go away. Some of the outlets had NO covers on them. The smoke alarm had no cover where the batteries go and no batteries for that matter. The reception on the TV was HORRIBLE. We could only get a hand full of channels and they were dark in picture. The other ones hardly came in at all. There was no card in the room that showed when "breakfast" was, check in or out times, or even things to do in the area. Thank goodness our GPS was able to tell us of the things in the area. The bed was rather hard for our taste... but not necessarily un-comfortable, just hard. Come morning there was no breakfast available for the customers. We checked back on the web site, even though it was showing a Holiday Inn, at the bottom of the page, in smaller letters was Motel 6. On the site, (which Motel 6 was aware of) it showed coffeepots to be in the rooms, and breakfast. This was one of the reasons we chose to stay at the Holiday Inn…which as I stated before was no longer but Motel 6 was aware of the web site and never updated any information. To us, this is FALSE advertisement! I mean even Budget Inns have donuts! This place did not have anything! (should be called motel zero) In the bathroom of our room, there were dead bugs under the sink area. No tissues in the tissue holder, a hole in the wall where the tubes from the toilet went in, (had no beauty ring on it). There were dead bugs next to the end tables on the floor, and the chair that sat at the desk was so filthy we would not even sit in it. It looked like something you would see in a greasy machine shop. There were stains all over it- it was disgusting! Do yourself a favor and listen to what people are saying on here. You can find a better place to stay for the money. We paid 70 a night for this. Was it worth it. Heck NO!!

Nice hotel, service and food lacking
By Dave N, 10/6/08
Stayed 3 nights, upon check in had to go find the front desk clerk as she was also cleaning rooms. Took 20 min to find her. She had dark hair, was nice and apologetic and way overworked. The room was very clean and nice as was the rest of the hotel. One problem was that every day we had to take our room keys to have them re-scanned. This was annoying and the clerk (different girl (blonde), we called this one Hollywood because she looked like she was dressed to walk down a red carpet with the makeup and jewelry of a beauty queen) had the attitude that we were bothering her. The first day was understandable but when it happened again the next day I told her we shouldn't have to have our room key cards re-scanned every day. She gave me a blank stare, no apology, nothing. Whoever runs this place needs to have a talk with the employees about public service and manners. I differentiate the two girls so that if the manager sees this they will know they have one really good overworked employee and one that needs a different job. The only other complaint was the food. The cereal and cold food was ok but the hot food was inedible. Bacon was very greasy and undercooked, the gravy was awful tasting and the biscuits were hard as rocks. If a good breakfast is part of why you stay in a place and pay for it, look elsewhere.

nice place to stop on road trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/7/06
The staff was very friendly, both nights I stayed there. Very clean lobby and rooms. Quiet. Breakfast was very good, especially the biscuits and gravy--better than most restaurants, trust me. Good hot cinnamon rolls and fruit, cereals, juice, breads, etc. Good coffee, but cups are too small--had to make two to take on the road. Fast foot a stone's throw away, too. Cinemax was nice. Think their door locks could be a little more snug. And broadband wireless would be a nice touch, for the business traveler.
