AWESOME
By ,
I loved everything about this place- the only little thing I didnt care too much for, is that the walls are kind of thin-when we had people staying in the villa next to us, we could hear then at times. It wasnt horrible, but wish it was sound proof. But the villa was really nice, the pools were great and the staff were very friendly. I would go back in a minute to this place- WELL WORTH the thin walls!! :-)

Absolutely No Customer Service
By ,
Awful experience! Stayed at the hotel for 8 days and hated it! From day 1 they were trying to sell us a timesheet. On our first day at Disney the hotel staff misdirected us several times to shuttles, and didn't seem to care that I had three kids I was dragging from park to park late at night. Then when we finally found a shuttle it dropped us off at the wrong Sheraton Distant (apparently there ate 2). When I told the driver it was the wrong hotel he told me to get off the bus. At that Starwood hotel they said they could tale us to the other resort for $16! It was 1 am, and neither our hotel or this one cared that a family of 5 was stranded. Finally, strangers and guests of this Starwood Sheraton Distant gave us a ride to our hotel. When I spoke to the manager, Renee, she said it wasn't the hotels fault since they outsource transportation. She seemed unconcerned and finally gave me a $100 credit. Which didn't cover our $14 a day parking at Disney, since we no longer trust their transportation, and the shuttles were one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The bathrooms were dirty, and the tub had a weird gray film in the water when we filled it up. Almost all the doors on the cupboards were broke. Our room was old and not well maintained. It was also loud, as teenagers and kids roamed freely all night! There was no internet to do work or even find a better hotel! I spent more time dealing with the hotels post guest service then I can address...the manager told me good luck finding something else since it was the holiday and there is a bowl game. Great service *sarcasm! Next time we will stay at Disney, where they care!

Promised wireless access was terrible
By ,
Overall the place was fine, and a typical resort near Disney -- a little noisy (landscape guys running around in the AM with gas-powered blowers all the time, road noise, very loud fountains). But we had a bad service experience. Some else wrote: "Wireless internet was horrible, couldn't even check email even when I moved the computer out on the deck right next to an wireless access point." Exactly! The AP was literally 25 ft away outside our window and we had intermittent connection at best with near-zero signal strength. OK, so we inquired. Talked with "IT support", who were sympathetic but couldn't do much except say "it's working according to our monitoring"; they were located, I think, in DC. Went to the front desk, where the insinuation was that we were clueless about how to connect to wireless because "I haven't heard any other complaints about your building." My other favorite line was "the wireless is affected by the wind, and when that dies down you'll get a better signal." (I am an It professional myself so I've had a little experience with this and she wasn't very persuasive. :-) Am now going to request a room change; we'll see what happens...

Not for Non Smokers or those wanting sleep!
By ,
This place looks nice and is in a great location (Publix Outback Walgreens practically across the street & 6 easy miles to Disney Parks closer to Downtown Disney.) Because this is vacation ownership, you will smell smoke in your room out on the balcony at the pool and in the parking lot- well EVERYWHERE. In addition, I agree with other reviewers...the pool is open until 1AM and it gets used by college aged partiers until that time using mommy & daddy's time share for free - no respect- bringing coolers full of booze down to the hot tub . Don't expect to get any sleep at this place. Loud Guests, loud flushing toilets, noise making water heaters/furnaces etc. Some rooms are very clean others are very dusty & musty! Plus is size of units, location, and full kitchen- if you can handle the college campus atmosphere!

Decent, But Not Great
By ,
First of all these are timeshares they rent out, not really a Sheraton resort & they tried to solicit a timeshare presentation at the end of our stay which was not appreciated even though they were offering a $125 cash voucher for a further stay. We paid $108 + taxes per night for a single bedroom which was not bad. Security was very good, staff at desk was helpful. Warning if you smoke they are very restrictive & you will end up in the parking lots with fellow smokers. The 10am checkout is a minus feature when most other places its noon. Plan on eating out because when we were there the on site carryout KYC & Pizza were always closed & go to Walmart down the road two miles for food/coffee, etc. as their general store prices are extremely high, but honestly that was expected. Again not bad, but certainly not great.

Quality/Management Problems
By ,
Clearly this was once a quality resort but they have let it slide. Overall this is a good resort but they hyave issues maintaing the property and the units. Our floors were absolutely filthy. Kitchen items were missing. Elevator signs with emergency instructions were WORN OUT (yes, I checked to see if someone had scratched out the instructions). The grills were not cleaned or maintained very well. Staff was friendly but not responsive and always cited budget cuts. Management should be reviewed and resort reevaluated for rating adjustment. NOT STARWOOD QUALITY HERE!

My Favorite Resort in Florida
By ,
I love this resort! We have been owners at it since it opened in 2001, been back almost every year and love it. The Good:The pools are wonderful, but I am pretty sure that the main pool, in Bella, is not heated. The other pools are and seem to be very warm. Key West village is not crowded and the rooms are beautiful, but I have heard that racoons get the garbage there at night, and when we were leaving the hotel at 5:00 am, we did see that the trash was scattered across the entryway/floor. St. Augustine Rooms are very nice and they will have both the biggest recreation center and pool, in terms of gallons of water, and I will probably want to stay in that phase as long as it is not too crowded. We have found that we have gotten our moneys worth buying this timeshare. The staff is also very nice and comforting. We love and hope to use it more! And now....... The Bad: We had one bad experience in 2005 while staying in Bella. The counters had spaghetti stuck solid to them, the curtains were stained, the closet doors would not open, the showerhead fell off, the tiles in the bathroom were cracked, the oven would not close or turn off, and the door rarely closed all the way. The offered to give us a new room on just about the last day there, and fixed some minor issues. Besides that, the service is absolutely horrible in the restaurant, Flagler's Station. We first waited 45 minutes for an order of chicken tenders, should not be too hard, then the waitress found out that it was sitting in a takeout bag on the counter, she gave them to us and they were cold. They offered to get us another one, so we asked for one, and they come out five minutes later with a chicken salad sandwich. Then, 10 minutes later they finally came out with a hot order of chicken tenders. They were not bad, but definitely not worth the hassle. Also, I am warning you, Do Not go to the Owner's Breakfast. It is simply a sales pitch, you can get either $60 or 4000 starpoints for sitting thorugh it, but it is not worth it. We were kept there for over 3 hours, wasting have of a sunny day on our vacation or "holiday" as our salesman called it. We got Maurice, who was very pleasant and was not up in our faces like most of their workers are. Overall: Overall, it was a fantastic vacation and will definitley be returning there soon. We absolutely love it there and reccomend it to all families.

NOT GOOD
By ,
Service in restaurant was HORRIBLE. When I'm on vacation I would appreciate to get service and acknowledged when I am trying to order some food or drink. Staff at bar was rude and should be fired since there are people that are unemployed in this economy. Wireless internet was horrible, couldn't even check email even when I moved the computer out on the deck right next to an wireless access point. Shuttle to disney did not run often enough, they are right next to Disney and only offer a shuttle twice - not good.

Great place cann't wait to see new part
By ,
Service is by far the best i've seen.the room wasn't bad, we stayed in the keys section.i would not take any thing less Keys or Amilia are by far the best rooms.there time share deal isn't that bad of a hassel to sit threw plus you get 40 bucks.Just say no.... You would think that if there going to try to sell you a (lowest one was 7000.00) time share they would put you in the building that you want...we asked a number of time to be in Amilia building.. some of the things that we weren't happy with was...there was 5 lights blown out,tv remotes weren't working, and had a full size matress pad on a king size bed...???...Other than those few thing this place was very nice and people were help full in fixing any problems you have all and all i would give this a 7 out of 10 ...there new part is going to be even nicer... cann't wait to go see what that looks like
