BEST inn on Martha's Vineyard !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/13/08
This is one of the most beautiful Inns on MV, a truely special 1840 historic home that is all renovated and plushly finished. The Inkeepers Martin Hicks (previously with Ritz Carlton) and Richard Alcott are very warm and great hosts. Martin makes a great breakfast in the mornings and Richard (who is a real life ship's captain on a big ocean cargo ship) operates the inn's charter boat "Island Time" for island tours during the summer. Direct Email at marthas@vineyard.net This is THE inn to stay at while "on island".

Oh so romantic!
By Diana, 02/25/06
We stayed at Martha's Place for our 10th anniversary - we had stayed in Martha's Vineyard, at the Oak House(also great!) on our honeymoon. I chose the perfect inn! We had prearranged bicycles and a small cooler of drinks to be ready for us upon arrival for a trip across the island (a very long, hilly ride!). Martha's Boys (the innkeepers) had everything ready for us, including maps. Our room was fantastic, with fireplace and claw foot soaking tub. Breakfasts were delicious. we were able to walk to restaurants, shops, and did very little driving. We were there to read, rest and romance - this was the perfect venue for that! One drawback, you do hear everything that is going on in the guestrooms from the hallway (beware of what you say!) We would definitely stay here again.
